I’m sure lee won’t mind that , the daytona is a very nice bike, i was having a sit on one yesterday at the BMF, very nice
jesus you two !!! I got out for a flyer for a few hours and Dawn’s got herself a ride on a 1000…
Soz D, been out riding.
Errr what got me into sports bikes? dunno. The look of them, the single minded nature, excuse to wear leather suit, chance to push myself and learn new skills.
Started on a Fazer 600 which was top top bike (if a little budget built) for a newbie but it was speed and racy looks that it missed.
For you tho? no idea. Guess you gotta try a lot and make sure you can reach the floor with both feet! Not being hightist here, but I don’t remember you being in the ‘tall bird’ category. Bike can be as sweet and fast as you like, but if you topple at the lights…
Sv650’s are sweet (but again a little budget built apparently - Lee?) a good nick 400 would be a perfect sports number, mebbe a Hornet for urban terrorism or some low slung cruiser number. Supermotos may be just too tall. But try’em all.
You’ll know better when you’ve had ur first Direct Access lesson on a 500.
It had to be the leathers, eh I wanted to be like the people I fascinated over on MotoGP! Digging dirt-bikes now though, got muddy again today and remembered why I love my DRZ so much.
Good choice the SV, great bike that does it all…But you really wanna dirt bike with ickle wheels trust me Cost feck all to drop, don’t do 3 million miles an hour and are more fun than a chocolate covered 3 some
Then again, they are crap at distance work, hate motorways, have seats designed by satan, do feck all to a tank and blow up But if you want practical, get a car
Hey there dsushee… I was 28 before I started to ride… Did the Direct Access route, as it was the quickest way to get onto a bigger bike… My test date was 21st Dec and it was cold and wet… Learning to ride in the winter was fun and by the time that spring comes, it’s amazing how many skills you have picked up from riding in the worst conditions. Then by the time summer is here you will be a weathered and compitent enough rider to enjoy going out on rides next year… Go on… DO IT!!!
