Well for the last 114 days I have been checking the bbc website every morning looking for the day when Alan would be released. Today was that day!!

My best mate Gav (for the last 16 years) is Alan Johnston’s cousin. I have met Alan a couple of times and he is the most humble, sincere bloke ever.

I have spent a couple of nights on Graham’s (Alan’s dad) sitting room floor after a night at the “hotel”

Drinking all Graham’s Glenfiddich with Gav and Graham is a memory I will never forget.

Today… the 4th of July 2007 was a very good day.
