does anyone know where i could get hold of an old 60s/70s police roadcraft book. the one i’m looking for has a police motorcyclist on the front with big white gloves and an open face lid if my memory serves me correctly. looked on ebay etc and can’t find the right one. basically my girlfriend’s dad lent it to me a few years back and i’ve lost it so want to get a replacement!
nice one mate. that’s a start. have been searching away and have found this which i’m pretty sure was the cover. says it’s a 1965 book on the page it came from but it’s on a museum’s site so doubt there’s much chance of me buying it from them! the search results from bookfinder all come up with 1973 books but have emailed a couple of the sellers anyway. gonna keep searching as there must be one out there somewhere. actually looking at it the book i lost seems to be the first issue so hope it’s not gonna be expensive! :ermm:
tell a lie just seen the 1965 edition on that bookfinder list. just gonna email the seller but nice one Giuliano! your prize is a hot 24 hour date with megan fox. just email her to confirm things @ [email protected] :w00t:
I have always found Bookfinder.com the best place for obscure old books. Their database includes books from hundreds of second hand bookshops all over the world. You sometimes need to play around with the search terms but almost every book ever published is there somewhere!
I have the 1977 edition somewhere, not getting rid of it though, it’s a family heirloom…I never did get round to reading the bit about tunnels though:)
hope you don’t mind me saying john but yeah, you may not be the best advert for police motorcycle roadcraft only joshing fella, good luck with everything. actually think it’s quite special how you’ve responded to what must be something so difficult to get your head round but fair play. an example to us all
Giuliano, pleased to say just got a photo back from a seller that’s come via your link and it’s the book i’m after! looks in good nick too and it’s about £5 all in. cheers for that mate. i’ll put a good word in with megan for ya and make sure she makes it a memorable evening
