I’m off to the O2 arena tomorrow to see Metallica 
I’ve never been efore, but I’ll be travelling from Wales by car. Do i pay the £20 parking fee in the arena, or do i park further away and get the tube in…(and out) :D.
Also, will i have to pay a congestion charge to get in?..about 2-3pm ish?..

I’d park up somewhere on the outskirts and travel in on the train or tube.
No congestion charging at the weekends!
Be aware that London Underground are taking the Jubilee Line out of service tomorrow so there is no easy Tube access to the venue. We’re being sent up to Stratford in East London on the Central line and onto buses to get over the river to the O2. It could be very messy on the way home!!! It could be £20 well spent to park at the venue in the light of this!
If I were you, I’d park in central Greenwich - there are plenty of car parks, and they tend to be empty in the evenings.
Jump on a number 188 bus going to North Greenwich and it’ll take you straight to the O2 (it should take about 20 minutes in average traffic). You can also get a 129, but it goes round the houses and takes a bit longer.

I may just pay the £20 and park at the venue as i’m sure we’d probabbly jump on the wrong bus and end out somewhere we don’t wanna be…
Was considering bringing the bikes down, but wether doesn’t look to good…just got back from a spin and am soaked…

Dont listen to where they tell you to park, its a scam. Car park 4 does not need prebooking.
I dont pay congestion charge coming from M25/A2.

I’m off to that gig as well… if you do want to prebook the parking go onto the O2 website and save yourself a fiver! I’m thinking of getting the wife to drive as it will be a sod to get out on the buses… Unless you go before encore:angry:

Like Mel Said, as you drive towards the O2 arena you take a right turn towards the O2 car parks, however the first car park you see is a private car park,(probably car park 4) normally has one attendent and pay and display machines, from the car park walk towards the dome through the train/bus station and your in the O2.(2 min walk)
Cost is about £3 to £5, top tip get there early or forget it, we normally get to the Arena by about 2-3pm, you can then spend the afternoon in the O2, tons of restaurants bars or coffee shops, eat early as it gets very busy from 5pm onward.
They also have a cinema, so you could catch a film or catch the river boat from the O2 into the city for a bit of sight seeing.

park in the cinamar car park more up the road(cheaper!) and bus it down to the o2 yer oir go on the bike…
careful if you do go on two wheels, they take your lid off you wont let you in with it.

I saw Paul Weller at the O2 last week.
I paid £25 for VIP parking, you jump the queues to get in and I was in the Blackwall Tunnel coming home within 5 mins, after leaving the venue.
Mates paid £17 online for parking, took 30 mins to get in and were still in the same parking space 2 hours after getting in their car (I was home and in bed before they left!)!
Shutting the Jubilee Line means that more are going by car!
Only problem with VIP parking is that you need to have a BMW, as they sponsor it? :crazy:
The road going in and out is grid locked, so it’s better to park in Greenwich and walk in!

parked in the tube carpark for £3! Bike wouldn’t have been an option i’m afraid, as it’s a 600 mile round trip, my ar*e would be square!

Hehe sorry I did not see this post earlier, but that was exactly what I did, parked in the NCP for 3 quid and laughed at everyone paying 20 in the prepay, got out and was back home in half an hour…
And yes it was a cracking gig love that they played And justice for all…

It was an awesome gig… my ears are still ringing! Master of puppets was the highlight for me
Parked in carpark 4 for £3… but it took at least an hour to start moving out after the gig:angry: not sure why as it was plain sailing after it did start moving.
Can’t wait for guitar hero metallica version now
