I am just wondering, everyone knows a sportsbike is a complete missile. It has no place on the road when you ride it like it is designed.
On the weekend I got very bored and went to the Ace. I had nothing better to do. On the way home I ragged my bike. The first time I have really given it some and TBH it does not deserve to be on the road. I really need to do a track day but it is the end of the year and the weather is going to be sh!te so I guess until next year it is not going anywhere near a track.
My other bike, a Hornet 600, it is not a problem. Give it some and in 1st, 2nd, 3rd you are doing 80-90. On the Gixxer you are doing 130.
I am just wondering how other people feel about their bike. Is all that power a good thing? Can you sit on it 99% of the time and not feel tempted to use it?
Yesterday. Strange day. Didn’t go on LB pet food run, got bored. Went up there 7.30 till 8.30. Got message from Charlie Claire had come off but still went home like I had nothing to lose doing stupid things.
The one thing about going fast in traffic is when a bike is giving it some with loud can cars pull over and a middle lane appears in front of you.
yeah Friday and Saturday are both busy nights but sometimes just feel like going down Sunday evening if I have nothing to do. Took a wonder round carpark, no LB stickers anywhere. Weren’t many bikes down there. Just sat outside thinking about stuff in general. Not many others sitting outside tho cos it had turned a bit cool but didn’t bother me.
i dont think he was on the back of the black R1 that was doing metal stunts terry…
No one in there right mind would go on the back after seeing that…
fair play that guy is good VERY good, put on a sweet show.
Almost got nailed by that car on the round about, didnt faze him though.
you see that terry?
as for going nuts on your bike, thats one reason i do trackdays…
I can sit on it most of the time, round town anyway the speed that is(harder to restrain my self from wheelies)
out of town you push it for a bit and then back off a bit, push it… back off.
and go mental the ODD time…
you still have to hold it down on the track (although you can cain it more)
if you dont you WILL bin it.
track days rule, once you been on one you will have THE BUG…
I must say after nerly 20 years of riding on and off road i get as much out of riding well, geting nice lines, smooth exits and a nice flowing ride going as i do from cracking it open and holding on for dear life…
Its all about the track for me. Its the bikes natural environment rather than chugging through traffic choking on fumes. Once on track you never look back and rather than a Sunday hooligan thrash round Sussex or Kent, its better just to get out there have a little fun but not spill the cup of luck.
When I do a trip to Europe I will tend to go a little bit more mental as less cameras, traffic and nicer roads IMO.
Adam the guy on that black R1 was Alex he always stunts that way right on the edge of death but always safe, he is also at the end of a Ace cafe video power sliding down the bridge on a blue R1 2004
The R1 I as on the back of is a lot quicker than that stock one at the Ace but both riders, ride a lil nutz
