So, the check from the insurance company covering the SV has finally turned up, three & a half G’s into the bike fund.
I bought the SV as a 2nd bike to cover some of the commuting I was doing on the 'Blade and, as it was naked, I was hoping to get the Mrs on the back. Now I have changed jobs, so I don’t use the bike as much, so getting a 2nd bike is not really necessary.
So, do I just sit with the 'Blade, knowing the Mrs will never get on it anyway ? The other option is to sell the 'Blade (I’ll get a tad over £5k), and use some of the insurance money to get myself a more pillion friendly bike ?
I hardly ever do track days, and tend to prefer longer ride outs and trips to France etc so I keep coming back to the VFR, with a set of cans and a PC3. But I love my 'Blade, even though I’m not the fastest rider out there.
So I’m in a dilema. I could keep the 'Blade and spend some of the money on a cheapish naked to use for commuting & pillion work… But the money is burning a whole in my pocket, very quickly !!
