Was overtaking a car which was going along at 20mph, went for the overtake on the bend (big mistake) and the bend which appeared wide suddenly went very sharp, so was going to take it wide and slightly drift into the other lane but saw a group of cyclists and decided that rather than endanger them, I grabbed my front brake and hoped to make it out alive.
Very lucky to be here, went head on into a wall at around 40-50mph, went flying about 20ft into a field, taking most of the farmers wall with me. Managed to somehow miss a tree and a huge dangling branch, as well as a massive metal roller which was in the farmers field!
I’m an experienced rider with many miles under my belt, ride in all weathers and as all those who ride with me will tell you, am always cautious, but this just proves that one day when you do take that unnecessary risk, it could be the only one you’ll ever take. Stay safe guys.
So Ginger has now officially named me as Jungle George as I watched out for that tree
He was very very lucky. Lucky to be alive and lucky not to be badly injured. Only bruises, aches and pains. A huge thank you to everyone there, but in particular to Ginger, Ange and Mark and Nige and Tiv but everyone else too. I can’t even explain how I felt riding back to the scene of the accident. Seeing it two days in a row was all a bit too much for me. But great weekend apart from that. George is now enjoying being looked after.
Hi Jungle George it was so nice to see you up and about on Sunday eve. I was going to call you George the 1st as you are the 1st person to crash on one of my rideouts. Apart from the wall you may also be charged with trespassing and flying with out wings.
George you muppet, bikes stay on the rode and apes go up in the trees, you should leave that sh1t to Ginge, after all he’s half orang-utan, how else could one person be so GINGER!! :w00t:
Glad to hear you’re OK though, mind you the lengths some people will go to just for a bit of TLC from Michelle, there must have been less painful ways surely?!?
Oh and as for fixing the bike up, have a word with Terry-Moto, he’s taxed worst!
It’s not just on rideouts, it can happen anywhere. The rideouts can’t be blamed for the riders crashes, it’s their own actions that cause the eventuality.
