New to London Bikers

Hi all, just thought i would write a post as a “newbie” to this site and say looking forward to the Borough meet wednesday night ( next week ) and also pick your brains regarding Brands hatch this weekend Its my first time at a race and also my girfriends who hated bikes before she met me so onto a good thing now she wants to be involved

I have race day and grandstand tickets but was wondering about travel there and in a car how bad the queues are to get in and parking etc and whats the best time to arrive on site.

Also is it a good idea to take food or buy it there not sure on the raceday prices etc

Any help to enjoy the day would be appreciated

Who are you, where are you and what do you ride.

Welcome to LB

I often go in the car cos I’m stingy and I take cheap food and three of us don’t fit on the bike

Queues are usually fine on the way in but a lot of folk rush off after the 2nd big race causing hours of congestion in the car parks and surrounding roads. If you watch all the races (which are ace too) and take your time, even have a coffee on the way to the car you’ll almost drive straight out  Last time we did this at a BSB meet we bumped into James Toseland for a chat who was doing the same

Sun block is a good addition if you haven’t got it on your list

:Phello and welcome, that johnp can be very rude at times…

Hello, How rude of me !!

I am Damian, Live in Guildford, work at Heathrow. Had a VFR for last 3 years and now have a 2001 Blade. Do about 20.000 miles a year and split this 50/50 Bike / Car… Thanks for the warm welcome and for the WSB advise… Got to go now as at work …

hi and welcome mate, ignore Jp think its his time of month  mardy old git that he is

Hi, i’ve been to BH a few times for the SBK, but i’ve always rode down from central London and it’s a nice ride especially on a Sunday. Parking the bike is easy, it’s getting out thats the problem what with so many people leaving at the same time, so god knows what its like in a car. A lot of people leave staight after the second SBK race, so you should wait till the last race is over and then leave, much better. Lots of food places to eat and fairly resonable too, hope that helps.

Hi all,

just thought i would say to you all thanks for all the advise re the WSB this weekend… Although dissapointed to be using the car to get there it should be a great day !!

It may at least stop me driving back round the M25 thinking i am Troy Corser or Biagi after watching the race

Damian
