New helmet, to feel more like iron man

I saw that too. Wonder if it’s better or just change to be different

I have a few years until.i get a bike again to let reviews pop out.

Personally unless shoei or arai release one, I ain’t getting it.

“Could be a game changer” - or might be a complete lemon with dubious crash characteristics and lots of extra bits to create wind noise.

Amen.

And as a glasses wearer, I would like to see this concept working.

It had never occurred to me that doing up a chinstrap is a problem that needs solving.

Looks like a lot of fragile and fiddly bits in that mechanism, could you get stuck in the helmet if something broke inside?

I’m also not convinced that you could actually pull it over your glasses if the helmet was the correct size. It looks very loose fitting in the video.

Wait until Sharp drop something on it :joy:

Only really when I realised I hadn’t it done up but had put my gloves off. I agree though it seems like over engineering a small problem and whenever have these complicated mechanisms been bulletproof over long periods of time / use

You’d be surprised at the number of times helmets come off in accidents, according to an EU study a few years ago, it occurs in 12.9% of them. A lot of these will be down to badly fitting lids &/or straps not being done up properly, but it’s not always the case. It happened to the brother in law of someone I used to share a house with. He was an experienced rider with decent quality kit but the inquest said his lid was found with the strap still done up properly.

My experience of Roof helmets is that they have all the build quality and integrity of a McDonalds Happy Meal giveaway toy, Plastics crack , moving parts dislodge and stick, clasps only work for a week. No way would I put my noddle in a Roof!

Under a roof, not in a roof

Like I said, until Arai or Shoei start making them, I’ll pass. I’m sure there are other brands with good build quality but the two are really the stalwarts of helmet design in my mind.

Also, if straps are safe for MotoGP, they’re safe for the road.

No in a Roof Helmet not Under a Roof Helmet
