New Arai Viper GT Scanner!

At last, I’ve got one of the limited run Viper GT Scanner helmets. They’ve been made for the 2007 range, with analogue/digital radio scanners, bluetooth pairing and RDS services available to the rider now. This means we can keep up on local Police activity, know when speed cameras are coming up, use our mobile phones and listen to digital radio, all on the bike! I love it, it works really well!

A huge thank to babyJ to going to great lengths to source this from Arai Japan directly. Review coming soon…

It’s surprising what you can pick up with it!

It’s not listed on Arai’s JP website because they’re rubbish at maintaining their site, and it’s a very limited run. Cost POA! More coming soon, need to get out and about using it more…

Ive looked on the Japaneese website and cannot see anything about this helment ???

It’s all integrated, it’s not a bolt-on kit for the lid. I’m reviewing the lid, so won’t say any more until it’s ready for the article to be published. Watch this space!

That’s one Cool looking Lid Jay…just wondering …what if there’s a thunderstorm with lots of lightning in the vicinity of where you’re riding …cuz then this forum is gonna have one " crispy, well-done " forum adm…

It’s not that I don’t believe you… but…

There’s no mention of this lid anywhere else on the net - at all, even in Japanese…

Police transmissions are encrypted so I don’t see how you can receive them - the Japanese digital radio standard isn’t DAB it’s DVB so a jap helmet would have a DVB receiver not a DAB one, and finally how would it know that a speed camera was coming up unless it had a> GPS b> a radar scanner - which combined with the police scanner would make it illegal wouldn’t it?

So Jay is now going to be so busy talking to Tash on his mobile whilst listening to Justine Timbersnake and tryinig to read his HUD Tom Tom output that he’ll forget to ride the bike…

Keep an eye out for the fella sat at the lights twiddlin his aerial as he tries to tune in to Smooch FM…
