I want to start riding into work next week, as a newbie I thought I’d wait til the roads are a bit quieter before I took the plunge.
Thing is, where is the best place to park? I work at Liverpool Street, the nearest NCP Car Park is on Curtain Road, they have CCTV apparently and charge £4 per day to park there.
Does anyone use this car park to park up? Are bikes relatively safe there? Or is anywhere safe at the mo???

haven’t used that NCP i’m afraid but have used a fair few others. defo take a chain/security still and hopefully you’ll find a spot with something solid to lock it to within the carpark.
has to be a better option than street parking at the very least
There’s a car park round the back of Spitalfields market, 10 min walk tops from Liv St,m which is free to park for bikes. Loads in there. Entrance is on White’s Row (which is one way coming off Commercial St). hth.

I work in LS too, park on the street touch wood no issues. However a few of my colleagues had their bikes pinched from sun street.
The last time i parked at NCP it was free?

Yep, NCP charging £4 per day, which isn’t too bad I suppose if the bikes going to be safe.
I’ve also heard of a few bikes being lifted from Sun Street, seems to be quite a popular area at the mo for the young chav thiefs.
Don’t forget that the City of London Corp carparks (i.e. not the NCP ones) are secure and free…if you’re close enough to one of them.

The White’s Row car park - does that have ground anchors (or anything else) to chain bikes to? I gather there’s a whole floor dedicated to motorcycles…

I have parked there a few times, and you can chain the bike on the metal construction at the side of the parking along the ramps.
Not sure how difficult it is to find a space though, I’ve always parked there in the evenings.
I’ll be parking in the evening too, so all would appear to be well.
