As I write this I’m still shaking like sh!te,on the way back from the Ace run which was a top notch morning/afternoon…
On the way home, I saw a few people on the side of the road so gave a littl beep, looked forward and the van in had just stopped in the middle of the road so insues the following
I slam on both ankers slowing but not enough I know I’m going to hit the van, I then hit a pot hole which sends the bike off in another direction… I have now lost complete control of the bike I put 1 foot down to jump and abandon ship… god knows how but the bike recovered itself (not over yet though)…
I’m now plowing through oncomming traffic, luckily a few cars could see what was going to happen and had started slowing down leaving me (literally inches) to sqeaze through and onto the side road by now I have stalled the engine so no power…
I pulled over and spoke to the bikers every single one of them said, you lost the bike it was over how did you get it back…
answer: I don’t know.
I’m not really a religous man but someone was watching over me today and for that I thankyou…
yer I remember I read the post… I’m telling you the karma from doing a good deed this morning paid itself back straight away…now I’m going to have to do something else to reinstate the balance…
Fuggging hell! Glad your ok - one of those moments when everything goes into slo-mo and your entire life passes in front of your eyes and you know that your life is either gonna get changed forever - or perhaps end very shortly - and then when you come out the other side intact you swear to turn over a new leaf, and start going to church/synagogue/mosque/bhuddist temple etc.
Im glad it was ok for you mate. I was reading a piece in the readers digest last night about what goes on in the body just before the moment of impact. Next time Ive got my pen in hand I’ll re create it, it made me stop and think for a moment, adn I thought Id love to pass it on so to speak.
Must admit to being a bit less observant than normal on the way back.
Still thought we had the police and marshals holding the traffic for us, had an interesting slide up to some red lights on the way back when I remembered I had to stop :w00t:
Blimey Karl, that sounds immensely close to being very messy . . . no matter what your riding skills it sounds like an impossible recovery – that big hand of fate nudged you nicely back to us!
Really glad you are OK mate (although I’ll bet your sphincter’s still pouting?)
The saying is cats have 9 lives, humans have 5. Don’t know why, just that’s the way it goes. Done similar. Magic when you realise you’ve got away with it.
