My good deed of the day

Went out to get the papers and saw a very nice brand new Italian plated scooter with the keys hanging off the top box. Looked around me but couldn’t see any Italian, or any other nationality, stallions, so took the keys. Got a piece of paper and an envelope from the shop next to where the bike was parked and left him a note with my phone number. I checked the glove box for the insurance documents with his name and phone number (got the name, but no phone, but as I know a few Italians here I figured I’d probably find somebody who knew him) and as I was walking away, he caught up with me. To say he was confused is an understatement! So I explained he had been a bit of an idiot, to which he had no choice but to agree. I just have to hope he’s kept the piece of paper with my phone number, as he was quite cute… He could always buy me a drink for taking care of his property…

Let that be a warning to all of us: don’t leave the keys in the ignition or top box, as not everybody would take them for safekeeping, leaving a note with a genuine phone number…

You might be onto a winner there ay

Very good of you, Paivi! So did he not speak very good English?

Yes he did, with a very sexy accent…

Actually the second time I’ve done this. Must stop taking the keys for safekeeping, and steal the bikes instead! I mean, if people are willing to put in all that effort to steal my bike, why shouldn’t I steal those bikes where the owners are just begging for their bikes to be stolen…

PS Just kidding…
