My First Stoppie

I’m not normally one to post about the events of London commuting but this morning is an exception - I pulled my first stoppie!!!

It was accidental and entirely my own fault. I was filtering (maybe a little spiritedly) past a stationary row of traffic towards some temporary traffic lights when a car decided to turn right into some flats opposite Lords Cricket Ground. I jammed on the anchors and the back end came up. Strangely enough I wasn’t scared - more excited and thinking wow, I’m pulling a stoppie and almost forgot about the side of the car I was quickly approaching which had done the usual thing of stopping dead instead of attempting to get out of the way!

Anyway, I got away with it, phew! I did calm down for the rest of my journey but am still grinning :smiley: What a buzz :w00t:

Oooookkkaaayyyy…first im SO pleased you go away with that…second…keep it in your head (i know you will) and be more cautious and aware next time, not of the stoppie, but of the cars !! As you rightly say, for some stupid reason car drivers stop dead like a rabbit caught in lights, instead of using their bluddy brain cells and keep going cos we need the room to get the bike under control again !! (im so not going to lecture, im so not going to lecture,im so not going to lecture)…oh sod it…honey buns…alright, im pleased you got a buzz, all well and good…but when i read this, it scared me to think you could have just as well been caught out big time…please stop giving me heart attacks !!! :wink: (luv you…you nutter!) :wink:

Damn, wish i had done a stoppie - I fell off and trashed my bike - grrrrrrr! Promise to self, will learn to wheelie and stoppie within the year - am very jealous hehehe

Good thing the R1 has good brakes eh? :hehe:It was me vs. red double decker bus a couple of weeks ago…Pulled a stoppie after having a stupid idea of trying to dive down the inside of it go wrong.

Got clipped on the knee, but thankfully kept it upright :w00t:

now that was silly wasnt it!!! i used to pull stoppies but now ive only got half my right index finger it doesnt feel the same so i dont bother… unless i have to that issherri glad ur still with us babes

I did my first stoppie…on Wills bike :ermm: was daydreaming and noticed the lights had turned red. Oops!
