My Dilemma

Im in a bit of a pickle!! and need help

Got a mint Yamaha R1  , 1999, 13K on the clock, taxed and MOt’d.

Never raced, never dropped.

My wife wants me to sell, I wanna maybe try something new.

Question:

Do I sell? How much can I get for it? What do I buy if I cant hack not being on two wheels? Track bike?? (as I wanna try it and too scared to drop the R1- as it has a chrome subframe and swing arm…too precious to drop or scratch!)

ADVISE!!! :satisfied:

Take the R1 on track, I was worried about mine first time, just take it easy and enjoy it. Very few people bin their bikes, take the advice of the instructors and relax.

Are you under some sort of illusion this is in any way your decision?

Why does your wife want you to sell it? …it’s yours right?

Take the R1 on the track, thats the compromise, you can ride it to and from the trackday and the trackday itself, all other time, she stays in the garage.

Depends why your missus wants you to sell it? Safety? Money? Spend more time with her?

My wife wants me to sell

Sell her keep the bike !!

Damn right, get rid of her, not the bike!

R1 on the track and sell the wife…sounds like a plan!

Mind you, Heres a story. I went to egypt this year and guess how much an egyptian taxi driver wanted to pay for my wife…10 camels!!!

Can someone tell me what year we are living in? and whether camels are the new gold

Oh let me clarify…

Apparently egyptians randomly ask one another for their wifes!!! So if you ever go to cairo and Sharm and an old git asks for your wife and wants to trade his camels or 1980 Mercedes Benz Taxi…dont lamp him, just laugh and lap it up…tease the missus, but dont take it too far as you wont be getting any!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep keep the bike lose the wife. Im sure you’ll find another one out there that wont make you sell the bike!!! lol
