MX riding anyone do it?

guys

I fancy a go on an MX track, just for fun. i dont really want to buy a bike as i havent done it before so don know if i will like it, so does anyone know a circuit that have hire bikes for practice sessions?

Essex/london area preferred.

Thank.

Ohh yes!, been doing MX since I care to remember!.. Not having your own bike is abit of a hitch though as they dont tend to rent them out because of the slaughtering they get! :D:D… but one place you might want tp check out is this, which I think is just what your looking for:http://www.tracksense.co.uk/offroadschool.htm

new market (braintree) motorcross track always has days for beginers, even a seperate small track for you to practice on. kawasaki used to do open days there, get full team green gear and bikes and the instruct you. great day out

I did it with them two weekends ago at Golding Barn course.

It was a really good day and they provide everything and I mean everything !

I had a great time and would reccomend it to anyone

MX is awesome. I’ve only done a little, but the few times I did go out, I loved it, big time!! It hurts when you crash though

I’d love to do it again. I’ve got to get my dirt-bike on the road again first though, but that shouldn’t be too long now. It’s only been two years plus, hah.

LB’s got the best MX (British and World) coverage on the web as well…

If you want MX then try Wild Tracks on the A11 near Newmarket.

Be careful as it’s easy to injure yourself (I broke my leg there getting ‘Big Air’).

I’ve also done Tracksense, which is green lane riding (broke my arm in June there!).

Ive road motocross bikes for a few years but i only started racing this year. My first ever race i ended up in the air ambulance, they thought i had broke my spine. Luckily i was fine ofcourse.

Hope thats not too off putting as it is a real good crack. Seems like theres a few places where you can go and give it a try. I started off with a cheap scooter to rag round the fields and progressed from there using my road bikes for off roading till i could afford to buy myself a proper motocross bike.

Anyone know any information about the MX track in Docklands? I read somewhere a while ago it was the only one located in Central London but i’m not sure if it’s even open anymore?

I’ll be going on an MX day soon.

Watch this space.

If anyone fancies out helping LB with MX news for the site, get in touch via a PM.

Yes Yes Yes !! Go on an MX track day!! Golding Barn are awesome. I did their training course in April 2007 and loved it!! You go from being a complete beginniner at off road - to doing jumps by the end and hooning down ’ dead man’s hill’ with full confidence. Do look up this school and book a place - you won’t regret it. I didn’t!!

Give it a go - its great fun. I had a go on a MX day and they supplied bikes and gear (even though I had to have a kids bike) and it was great - started on a baby circuit then in the afternoon went on the big circuit and got some air - fantastic - I would do it again
