MTT Y2K at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011 doing a burnout...

…after a false start lol.

In my view this is the coolest bike in the world, nothing else comes near it. Not sure if it’s road legal in the UK, with 600 deg C exhaust gases. Also not sure I like this rider doing the burnout towards a small child, especially seeing he has a rear-facing camera and appears to be watching the child in the monitor on the dash…

Great sound though. Turn them speakers up…

And the coolest thing? It runs on… diesel :hehe:

how does it do a burn out? i thought the bike was propelled by the jet itself not drive the rear wheel.

there are jet powered bikes where the thrust pushes them along but the MTT has a turbine engine from a helicopter with a 2 speed gearbox driving the rear wheel…

aha, tank you for explaination.

The Y2K jet bike is your typical American ‘more power’ idea; famous petrol (kerosene?) head Jay Leno is a fan:

I love the engineering to make it work, but total madness!

Can you imaging puling up at the lights for a Traffic Light Grand Prix!

He must have spent the fencing budget on metal polish - looks like he’s had to make do with a bunch of bungee cords, hooked together.

What`s it do to the gallon?

5 miles, or 50 to a tank. On one of your longer rideouts you’d need 6 tank refills :hehe:
