Motorcycle sheds - Help please!

So I got permission to put a shed in my parking bay and I don’t even know were to start!

  1. which kind of shed should I buy? Wooden or other?
  2. where to find them? Good compromise quality/money
  3. indicative average price?

At the moment I park in an electric gated car park, ground anchored with an Almax III, and just an ordinary cover. I want to get this shed not only to save money with the insurance but also to get more security as I’m planning to upgrade bike. Do you think the shed would be enough or shall I install a ground anchor inside of it?

soooo please please please… help me help me help meeee…
help me to get what I waaant… this time!
na na na na na na na na naaaa…

A few options for you:

I personally would not go for wood - will make it too easy for a determined thief.

Hope this is helpful.

A friend has one of the asguarg bicycle sheds and it looks pretty solid. If you’ve got enough room for the motorbike one it would give you space to do a bit of maintenance as well.

I’d consider getting a battery powered PIR or door alarm as well for a bit of added peace of mind.

Whoaa man… those are quite expensive! I didn’t expect this much…
I need to find out how much I’ll get back from my insurer :crying:

The steel ones are the most secure but anything will help, a ground anchor is essential though.

A lot of insurers however only count garages that are brick or concrete for a discount.

What is your parking space? Tarmac?

If you own it, build a prefab garage out of concrete slabs?

A wooden shed would do nicely to keep eyes away but not much more than that.

In my head I’m picturing a car park with a shed plonked onto one of the parking spaces hahaha

Bike barns look pretty good and portable. I also know some people who bought concrete sheds off ebay for a good price. They assemble like lego apparently. Who’d have thought you could buy a used shed on ebay. Or buy a van and put the bike in that.

The ground is tarmac and, obviously, I don’t know how and I’m not capable to install one…
Do you guys think I could call someone to get it done?
I mean I’m pretty sure there would be someone on the forum that is willing to do it for some money, right?

Serrisan had a proper job ground anchor installed in his tarmac parking bay at his Cheltenham residence

If he don’t show up here PM him for the photographs/details

I thought about getting of those “sheds” before I decided on getting another garage.

I can rent a much larger garage for 4 years before I would reach the same price as one of those boxes.

Not sure I will be living here in 4 years, hopefully not, so didn’t think the investment was worth it.

Mate, that’s exactly what I was thinking!
plus, the insurance (eBike) doesn’t make me save that much… circa £100
