Motocross boots for road riding?

I’m in the market for some new daisies - I’m no longer a sports bike rider - I ride naked ( yeah I know, dont start! ).

Looking at some ginchy Alp stars tech 6 - too much for road work? Anybody wear them for road biking? Heavy? Comfortable? etc., etc.,

Thanks in advance.

used sidi couriers for years and there still going strong!!

out lasted any other boots iv had, very comfy once worn in…

best boots sidi make just cant use mine anymore on the gixer

still there in the cupboard ready for a return!!

I use Sidi MX boots like these:

I find them very comfortable, but can’t really compare.

I am looking at getting some Sidi Couriers as well.

They seem to be shorter than the average MX boots, but as tough as…well, y’know

Only Problem with Sidi Couriers is the absolute lack of ankle protection, they are not ridgid boots…

id heard a few horror stories about these in the rain… i guess that is a thing of the past then?..

They’re not terribly waterproof, but in this weather, I’m not sure if any boots are.

Yes…too much. I have a pair for S/moto and they have saved me from binning it a few times. I found them too inflexible around the ankle for commuting though and they are not waterproof, so bought these (Oxtar Infinity) which have been the perfect balance.:

Just last week I moved from road boots to the Sidi Crossfire:

It’s funny how much of a difference they make, now the bike feels like it starts at my knees and standing up feels just ‘right’. Though my 640 was designed for standing with such boots.

However , I need to change the gear and brake levers to match. Yesterday I did an accidental clutchless downshift as I stood up lol, thankfully the knobblies just slid briefly. :w00t:

edit: I also had to walk two miles in them yesterday, no issues. Though they squeak at the joint!

i have tech 6. but i miss my tech 8’s

both good boots though
