I do think for all the money they threw at building the Qatar circuit it really isn’t that exciting.
The man of the race for me was Colin Edwards – a 4th on the first race of the season is a really good result for him and I wish him an excellent season. JT really isn’t up to the mark yet. Rossi is just fantastic to watch and the Stoner/Ducati marriage seems to be going well . . . all he has to do is develop a personality and he’ll have bucketfuls of fans!
All that said, it is just superb to have MotoGP back. It’s been a loooooooooooooooooong Winter!
+1 on Edwards - he’s such a straight talking bloke, always liked him - I remember when he was dropped by Honda and he came out with ’ looks like I was sucking the wrong dck all this time’
Commentator laughed nervously!
Think the potential for a good season is there though, a lot of injuries being carried by various could be front runners - If they can get in shape there maybe some proper racing.
Was good to see the Suzukis competitive again, Capirossi was going well until he binned it.
Other than that, an unremarkable race at an unremarkable circuit.I’d like to think that the races will get better when they come to the ‘proper’ European tracks but I think it’s going to be a boring old season.
Here’s hoping I’m proved wrong.
