loads of space at Finsbury Circus and furniture to chain it to
perfect!! thanks!!
whats the carpark in whites row like?
Used to be really good but I heard recently that a blackbird was stolen on order from there so Id prefer Finsbury Circus - at least its open and LOTS of people walking past! Plus one of my offices overlooks it and I could keep an eye on it on the day in question if you like? ![]()
I work in Moorgate and use the london wall car park
23 London Wall, EC2V 5DY
It is underground secure with cameras and real security who walk around and best of all its free! (just go around barrier to get in)
you can enter going east along london wall just as you come off roundabout by London Museum. you can eithier use the first bays you see bikes in or ride along to end (bays 45 and up) and park there and use one of the fire exits there which will bring you up right by moorgate station. I have no idea why people use bays on the street outside
I use:
General unawareness I assume? Bays on the street are generally easier to spot, not all multistorey car parks or car parks with barriers are bike friendly.
I didn’t know you could park in Chinatown for free (in the multistorey next to the fire station) until I went and asked out of curiosity, looking for a more secure place to park. It’s also beyond me why its free down there and a £1 on the street in those parts, but who am I to complain, its convenient and I don’t have to leave bikey over in Camden and walk over.
yes I guess you are right though I did tell a couple people who park in the bay as I walk past it every day…and they still park in the bay (never mind two bikes have been stolen from that bay in the last year)
Glad I came across this thread as I start a new job in Moorgate on Monday. I looked at the City of London web site and that suggested that there was bike parking at the end of Tokenhouse Yard - is that any good?
Also need to establish what sandwich bars are in the area for lunch. Any recommendations?
I must admit that I’m not familiar with London so will get myself a satnav.
Thanks
use the underground car park as suggested above …it is free and secure. Bikes get stolen from the bays all the time (I was a victim as well)
OK, thanks. I’m not familiar with parking a bike in London so would I need a chain as well?
Thanks
in the underground car park not many people use chains mostly disc locks, but if you can use a chain do so. If parking in a bay I would have an Almax chain disc lock and a small dog such as below …

useful thread, i don’t really spend any time up there, when i do i park in finsbury circus or near the moss bros near liverpool st station
generally only going up there to meet someone after work. is there anywhere to park nearer bank? i can never find anywhere useful, particularly in the evening
