Man V Fox - Biker Down

Thanks… Hope to get it sorted ASAP and then back out on the road (on at JET rideout  less the 1st watering hole…perhaps :Whistling: )

Glad your ok, bike can be fixed. I’d fix it myself as a claim will knock your premium up massively next year.

Bikesafe is good I did that last year about 2/3 weeks after i started riding. I was also recommended to do Kevin Williams training which was fantastic. he has a face book page http://www.facebook.com/SurvivalSkills

I think the best and most basic thing he taught me was practicing breaking and slower controls in a car park. stopping, counter stirring, figure eight tighter turns etc.

Bike safe is a great day 1-2-1 training, have a good lunch and some freebies, all in all its really free training.

Will have to keep an eye on this as I have the exact same part that will need doing
fyi Imortal you can get the fairings here : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-FZS600-FZS-600-Fazer-Front-Fairing-1998-01-/400258599578?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5d31458a9a

Just to reaffirm that Kevin Williams aka SpinDoctor is a great teacher. I’ve done an advanced assessed ride with him and learnt a lot. He makes you think about what you are doing on the ride and how to anticipate and react to road surfaces etc…

As the others have said, fix the bike yourself. You can do a good repair using Plastex and then spray it up nicely. It may not look perfect, but will be fully roadworthy and let you save towards a proper respray etc…

Ebay fairings are another route, or the £50 fairing that you can respray. Foxes are nasty buggers, good that you bounce well!

amit, you do realise that you still have a top fairing and lights here at the OMC right?

Sorry to hear about your off and pleased you are okay

Imortal. Sorry to hear about your accident. I did the same thing to avoid a fecking cyclist once. Luckily my bike wasn’t that badly damaged.

However I ride a Thundercat. Quite a few of our parts are interchangeable - and I have spares. Give me a shout if you need anything. If you need I can loan you my Haynes manual, or even give you a hand at OMC (I’m in walking distance of that place).
