Im looking to go to a trackday at mallory park, rated at 98db. Can anyone shed light on how loud this is in real terms, as i know different tracks test differently.
Do you think an R6 with akrapovic slip-on would fail the test?

My last bike, 05 R6 with a shortened Arrow can managed so you should be fine
If you’re worried about it, I have a noise meter I can test your bike with?
R6 with slip on akra would fail I think. Shewoolf was that a quiet day (98db) or a normal track day (105db) that yours passed on???
I’d be very very suprised if a shortened arrow was anywhere near 100 let alone 98db. Arrow are notoriously loud and they generally come in at circa 105db+ even with regular re-packing.
One way to be sure…get it tested as gabs says.
I did a 98db Saturday with Shewolf at the end of Sept 07 at Mallory, they didn’t noise test anyone.
I just held the throttle at less revs than they told me too Unless it’s taking the **** they’re not normally too bothered.
As long as they don’t use their tachometer reader, then, you’re ok
When I went on the 7th March (98db day) I took my AKY slip on off as a precaution and put the standard can back on (ZX6) even though when I tested it I got around 94/95db. This was because I was worried my test meter may not be as accurate or “calibrated” as per their equipment…There where plenty of bikes noisier than mine would have been running on the day so I would say take a standard one and swap it over if yours fails on the day.
Just a thought.
Enjoy the track, I did
