no havent checked with insurance yet. its still going to be valid until renewal next year in august, so they can rape me later on.

My insurance has just gone from £300 to £680 due to a claim on my company car (fault minor damage) & vandalism claim to one panel! glad your bike shopping though
whatever happens, i’m going to have to insure it regardless. its compulsory after all.
i’ll have to give them the real options before i ask for price for renewal, hence shopping for bikes.
technically, its not going to be a ‘renewal’ but a swap from one bike to the other, as my insurance said the current one will run off within 30 days from when i submit my V5 to them.
i can still ask for TPFT if its too much.
i have my 7 years no claim bonus protected anyway, not sure if that means much.
had a very nice chat with the guy who’s selling it, he looks like it does what it says on the tin.
it does have a full akrapovic system (i’ve asked how much he paid for it and its REAL) and the guy is willing to take the raised handlebar kit as i told him i really dont want it and he can sell it separately.
he doesnt even want a deposit. he told me what the reserve was and it meets my budget.
downside its up in staffordshire, will need a new set of tires as its got metzler at the moment. and its already got 30k miles. but i think this is a very nice clean bike.
I’m riding up to Nottingham tomorrow evening if you want a ride up to buy it (could easily swing past Stoke to drop you off). Sounds like a nice bike (and an R6 plate too!).
do you / did you commute on the r6? I really like the look of the 2003/2004 r6 and am thinking about getting one for commuting and for fun. Slightly concerned about the reliability? Its either the r6 or a fireblade.
I’ve used my bike every single day for 5 years, it had done 53k before the crash.
Had some minor faults like kill switch, coolant hoses and the speed sensor packed up recently, but it all happened after the 45k mark. all very easy and cheap to fix.
I can’t praise that bike enough. I like the fireblade too, I think they are a tad more expensive thought.
John Paul, my R6 never let me down had it for 5 years from new, top bikes… However a Blade will be more fun, less ragging it to keep the speed up and much less gear changing…
To many people get the blades and write them off as the think they are easier to ride, you forget they might be easier but all it means is its smoother, its not slower and you still should have a certain amount of experience!!
Ask ROB - more fireblades sent to 4th dimension than anything else. Most of them owned by there new owners for less than a month!!
