Long way down

I thought it was fun! It’s odd to know they’re based in our neck of the woods and haven’t seen then riding around (or known we have). I mentioned to Foxy I thought it was over prepared and a bit OTT, but she pointed out quite rightly that these are two famous people, one an international film-star of considerable wealth, so of course they couldn’t just jump on their bikes and work out the rest as they went along, they need a large support team to protect them as much as anything else considering the instability and dangers a lot of the places they ride through would offer.

I don’t know about you lot but it made us highly envious, seeing all their top-grade equipment and support. If any of us wanted to do something similar, we’d have to take simple bikes and very simple equipment for practicality, cost and security reasons.

Charlie and Ewan are funny as hell though, I love them, great duo. I look forward to seeing the rest!

As Jay says, they are going to some of the most inhospitable places in the world and if it was me making that trip I don’t think it would be possible to “over prepare” for it.

I’m loving the first episode, hope they are all as gripping:)

Dang, is this going to be repeated? I fell asleep during top gear…

Don’t forget, it’s also raising money for charities CHAS and Unicef.

The scenery and roads in Scotland are awesome I was very jealous :w00t:

How do they raise money for these charities?Do you think it’s DVD and book sales that make the money?I’ve never seen them appeal to Joe Public for a donation:crazy:

Thanks for the monkey bike link G  They do look like fun, I suppose my son will want one soon… yes! So cool having a 10 year old who loves what you do.

Funny when Ewan (pworaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah) said everyone was looking at him on the floor saying, **** **** it’s ewan mcgregor! Nice bike too… not the beemer. What was he riding, the black one?

His missus has never ridden a bike before and wants to go with them… top bananas to that bird! It’s not funny she fell off - what a nobhead thing to say :stuck_out_tongue:

Top gear was good… hamster does need a haircut, he’s still a lil scrummy though.

Was a Moto Guzzi - I think its a Griso(For Yslart thats another sexy V Twin;):P)

My parents have Guzzis… think my dad’s selling his 1100, not sure what model it is, but will have to check if I can put it in the sales bit (maybe he will have to join)

You should have recognised it then:P

I always wondered what it was like to ride the sideways V. What about the heat?

Check the rules before posting items for sale…

In winter its lovely:) You just have to keep moving in summer:D

The cam covers are in just the right place to rest your hands on at the lights:cool:

i liked it .

i liked theway Ewan packed (hmm 2 Ts 2 pants…) lol thats how i pack for stuff lol

i told my man we have to go to scotland on the bikes …once iv passed my test and am on my 400/four

I too enjoyed watching the first instalment of Long Way Down. I wonder if Charlie is going to tell Ewan that he isn’t up for the missus coming on the trip as well…

No Dissin All the Ladies…But he should say something;)

I think she needs alot more experience first.

Yeah… definitley needs alot more experience before that trip BUT kudos to her for wanting to give it a go! I’d set a compromise - let her ride to the bottom of France and then go on without her.

i enjoyed it and looking forward to the next one!

its on tonight - Sky2 at 11.30pm after Bones.

So who is this Charly Boreman guy… why don’t I know him? I’m going to get openly flogged now right

Charlie Boreman is also an actor but not as well known as Ewan(obviously)

He did Long Way Round and Race to Dakar last year.

Bit of a nut-nut:D

400/fours are tops for those roads
