Ouch, but glad you are on the mend.
One word of advice, get the pins taken out after about 11 months to stop them calcifying.
That sounds like the voice of bitter experience…
Terrible news
Seems to be a lot of this - just got myself a reflective H belt and back wearing my white helmet - fingers crossed that it makes some of the unobservant drivers see me!
Hope you get better soon!
Thanks for the replies - to all and every one of you - it means a lot.
Yep it was the SV Ratty mate - don’t know what state it’s in though.
Thanks for the advice regarding the pins dlchatel.
I’ll definitely be trying not to get bored PPG!
Take care out there - and look after yerselves!

Got an SV1000 for sale on the other part of the site!
Really sorry to hear about your off. Welcome to the “bored as a bored thing on the couch in front of day time TV club”.
I am not suprised she didnt see you. I went to Sainsburys on Sun and had to use one of their electric mobility scooters again. Now I am 6 foot 2 so even sitting down on this theing I stand out, it is massive and bright orange. The number of people who ran into me with trollys was amazing. Got a few smidsy’s as well. One old dear bashed into me, appologised and then asked me how I injured myself. When I told her I was hit by a motorist who didnst see me she looked a bit sheepish.
Point is if they cant even see me when I am sat right in front of them in Sainsbury’s what hope do any of us have on the roads?
That’s nasty!
Get well soon mate. Guess it could be worse.
re: pins - Keep the paperwork when you go on holiday!
Unlucky mate, GWS - it might have been low speed for you, but to be honest a car travelling at any speed is so heavy it is going to do some damage… and considering she probably never hit the brake pedal.
Hoepfully she might be done for without due care?
That’s rubbish news Sid, did she think she knew better than the guide dog or what? Hope you get a bucketload of compensation, never quite makes up for a busted body though.
Sid you and V should get together and compare war wounds.
She’s had her back slab and bandages removed now but still has to spend a lot of the time with her leg up as if she uses her crutches to much her foot swells up.
If you want to rent a chair we got one from this lot in Battersea, WheelFreedom
I can’t believe how many accidents are happening at the moment.
Sid - it sounds like you are the victim of incredibly bad luck, this could have happened to any one of us and the injuries would have been no less no matter what protective gear we happened to be wearing.
I really hope you get better soon, and that you get a decent claim against the driver. I know money probably isn’t your priority at the moment but I would imagine you will get a new bike out of them (depending on how new the “old” one was) and a few grand, at least, for the injury.
They are bloody everywhere arent they in their little boxes! useless the fcukin lot of em! GWS sid…
Have you tried model making? better than mind roting day time telly…
Sorry to hear of your injury, but glad they’ve admitted liability. You’re a bloke – the story will be exaggerated by at least 10% every time you tell it – by the time your grandchildren are able to listen you’d have been going at least 70mph when at least 3 cars hit you in quick succession – had it not been for your quick thinking and masterful biking skills you wouldn’t have been able to veer off the road and drive through the shopping centre without hurting or injuring anyone, turn the bike by doing a doughnut, back through the shopping centre on a wheelie, out onto the road, slam on the rear brake and skid to a halt in front of the main protaganist and stop them from getting away . . ? :w00t:
I hope you get better soon.
Argh mate hope you are on the mend.

Thanks guys, the reason I was going so slowly was that i wastravelling along an access road in a large superstore car park - the woman must have spotted a parking space across this road and just put her foot down to get it - she said she never saw me! In spite of the fact that I had my headlights on and was moving at jogging pace!?
some drivers have tunnel vision…hope u get well soon…thanks
GWS mate sue the crap outa her

Strewth mate - people are all up their own arses these days and just don’t consider other people.
Sid you and V should get together and compare war wounds.

cheers BM - I was thinking about your wife’s accident and the similarity myself - hope she is back to 100% soon.
Sid - it sounds like you are the victim of incredibly bad luck, this could have happened to any one of us and the injuries would have been no less no matter what protective gear we happened to be wearing.
To true eezyrider - I was wondering if a pair of armoured motorcross boots would have made any difference - but I guess not with those kind of impacts.

Cheers Zeus - that’ll be my stroy from now on!
Thanks again to everyone above - makes it so much better to know that you guys understand! ![]()
Bad luck mate… Dare I ask if the Police have taken any interest? Sounds like Dangerous driving to me…
