leathers for the shorter woman?

went out with sue this morning to find her some leathers hat boots gloves ect , spent two hours in lagunas at maidstone she tried on every thing she liked the look of but none of them fitted in the leg length all the knee slider areas where on the shins do other women have trouble with having short legs? sues a size 10/12 depending on what make she tried on even the short length didnt fit!!! so she left with nothing but i on the other hand left with a Beric 1 piece suit sidi vortex boots:cool: back and chest protector  i hate taking her shopping!!!

do any of you ladies have short legs if so where do you get your leathers from , or shall we just get a made to measure suit , sue doesnt want ones that fit over the boot one that tuuck in prefable and must have good protection ie knees hips shins

The selection of ladies leathers in this country is crap. I’ve ordered my next set from here www.motoin.de they have a wide range of ladies sizes and include inside leg length in their measurements. Other than that, Harpers will make Wolf leathers to fit for a very reasonable price. I crash tested mine and they worked a treat!!

PM’d ya mate…

I am only 5’ so very short and have found it hard to get leathers to fit, the best fitting pairs I had were some from J&S in Greenwich and they lasted really well, and a pair of Teknic - both were two piece not tried 1pc

I have two piece leathers(it zips together) that I am thinking of selling as my wife doesnt use them. She is a size 10 and is 5’2". The jacket has been used 3 times and the trousers have never been used. PM me if interested.

Ask Gabs, she’s only 5’2"

I think GirlsBike2 own brand leathers have pretty short legs.
I found the knee armour to be really high in my spidi trousers and had to move them down … perhaps ladies leathers are made for people with short femurs and long tibias!
Give Jo a call at the Archway branch of Girls Bike 2 and she can let you know what they have in stock that could be right for your wife. 020 8340 6503
Good luck

I have short legs and a long body, so although I dont look short I have the same problem as your friend… I have a two piece leather set from Hein Garrick (excuse my spelling) and they are not too bad but not brilliant… I’ve heard great things about Harpers and they are defo very reasonable. My husband was going to go there to get leathers made (he has the opposite problem; too tall!) but ended up using Scott leathers instead. I was really impressed with what they did for the price they charge

I have sent you a PM

Thanks every one that replied ill be looking into the sugestions you have made and get back to you

si

Agreed. Was gonna suggest you call Jo as well!

Why not speak to Wasp (Samm) and see what she can do with regards to alterations if you’re struggling to find an exact fit for the missus?

Excuse me, but don’t we have some leathers builders/modifiers/repairers amongst our own community.

There’s nowt wrong with working “in house”. If you don’t like the price, just say so, but you ought to check.

That’ll be Wasp.

It’s not just the ladies that have trouble, some of us shorter or taller blokes have some difficulty.

Yes and leathers are easily altered to fit:D wether it be longer, shorter, taken in or taken out its all doable:D

You are going to be the first person who will get the “visit” to shorten leathers for sue, if these leathers ive got fit her everywhere else, and they turn out too long in the leg, my dear !!! She will even get to meet and greet ur “pets” !!

Blade you should have been here yesterday Ginger got to meet the ferrets(hilarious) oh and he has a knack of talking to the chickens!:w00t:

I’m 5ft 2 and I found Spidi the best “off the shelf” leathers, think they were mens tho cos the ladies didn’t have as much protection in them (why do companies do that with gloves and leathers???) so trust me, I had to squash the lungs in

For my trackday leathers, I had them made to measure by Scott Leathers, pretty basic (all black) so only ÂŁ600 but had full knox protection and a hump in. These are the most comfortable now anyway so I wear these on the road now, just a bit of a pain as they are one peice!

Why did she want a leather hat???

I was going to point out girls2bike and also that I’d read good things about wasp and her leather altering talents. but it’s all been done, but I’m saying it anyway now. :stuck_out_tongue:
