If there is enough interest we can have another official LB trackday. After the success of the last one i know there are a few of you wanting more. So lets go for it. The Brands day will sell out soon so i`m sorry to have to rush you but what do you think guys and girls?
Which one shall we call the next LB trackday? Donington GP 15 Aug or Brands GP 23 Aug.
Ill be there instucting and will be on hand if you need me for advice, tips and support and of course if i cant help you can be sure someone from the LB crew can.
Good idea, B! Donington Park GP is the best, superb circuit. Probably a bit cheaper as well, though if you weigh up the fact you’ll need accomodation, Brands GP might be the same cost. Would that be a full noise day at Donington, B?
Yup, noisy day so even your exhaust is ok Jay. Its only £150 and with Focused Events, then theres the cost of accomodation which is not expensive.
Brands is £219 but no cost for accomodation for most of us.
Great! I’m up for that! Let’s put the names down boys!
Yup, I’m in. Always wanted to do Donnington GP.
How easy is it to learn for someone that has never been there?
Same as any other circuit really, has some ups and downs, some long sweepers and some tight bits. Take it easy in the first few sessions and you’ll be fine, same for all trackdays!
Is Craner Curves in any way similar to Gooseneck at Cadwell? Perhaps a bit faster?
Gooseneck? Do you mean Mansfield? I can’t remember the Gooseneck. It’s more like a twisted version of Paddock Hill at Brands Hatch, i.e. brilliant, a real thrill. On track, it’s much steeper than it looks on telly, but not scary when taken slow, only when going fast.
Donington Park is a fantastic circuit, fast and flowing. Craner Curves will have you cranked over for a very long time and accelerating your way downhill through it. Then a change of direction is thrown in while your still accelerating. Very different to the shorter, trickier and less forgiving Gooseneck but hugely rewarding.
Its a fast but safe bend with plenty of run off and if youre precise with your lines and throttle control a lot of time can be made up here.
You`ll be carrying more speed through there each lap as you get used to it.
Cheers. Think I might book myself into novices to start.
Good to have you on board. Dont book anything yet though as well have to see which circuit is the preferred LB event.
Not to worry though as ill be at both of these trackdays anyway, but itll probably be more fun at the official LB one unless you`re desperate for Donington.
i would favor brands, maily because iv done GP there befor and the chance to get to know the track better would be usefull.
If you think about the cost of donnington 150 plus hotel… and then van hire if you dont have a van and fuel? you know its going to cost more than 200 quid.
realistically its going to cost at least 250…
Why is brands Gp so much? its always fully booked to…
Where ever we go i should be able to borrow Adam H’s 3 bike trailer to tow with my sprinter van so i could take a few bikes and peeps
the van has seats for 5 people to… with seatbelts.
Nice one Adam, that may be really helpful for those who dont have transport. If we do Donington you wont be disappointed.
The Brands GP circuit is pricey because the circuit hire costs are high (£27,000 for a one off hire for the day to you or me ) and riders love the place and are prepared to pay the extra to ride on the hallowed circuit.
put me on any track in the world and i would not be disappointed.
just riding my bike to work and im not disappointed.

If you have room for my scooter, I can also take 3 people in my car.
Any idea when we will decide which one we’re going to do?
I’ve still got an alternative day at Cadwell on the 15th, so my preference is also leaning towards the Brands day on the 23rd.
Are Novices welcome??? I really wanna do a track day and this could be a good opportunity.
Accom might not be to bad if we all bunk cheapilty togther…
If som1 was to take my bike down id obviosuly pay some petrol + extra
thanutz; This would be a good opportunity for you to get out on track. The majority were novices at the Silverstone event so youll on a level pegging with most of the LBers.
fridayman; Firstly well have to get enough people to go then well make it an official LB day. At the moment there are plenty of spaces so weve got a bit of time. Ill keep an eye on that as they can go quickly, but will keep you all posted.
Cool if thats case and i can store a lift i will be up for it…my dad has an mpv toyota previa or something, u can take all the seats out but i think its just shy a few inches of fitting the bike
Donington GP, Brands GP Hmmmm which one?
Any more interest guys and girls, we still need a few more to make it an LB day.
It will be a great day out and the last time ill be at the GP circuits this year. Ill be there for help, advice as an instructor and even a suspension check.
And of course there`ll be plenty of LB banter
