What a shame. We were planning on using this for Sue’s gentle reintroduction to the LB community, with a surprise visit to Wesson’s. We hope to catch you all soon.
Who fancies a TOWiE in lieu, not so much in the way of shenanigans but some top drawer tarmac for sure!
is the zx12 fixed yet?
No, not had time, it`s probably another stator. Seems to get through one every 18 months.
how about a scorch rewound one?
Possibly when time allows.
If you’re short on time, I’m happy to volunteer Roni to do the electrickery to figure out if it’s the stator and to come round and shove a new one in one weekend afternoon if you like (once you’ve got one and a gasket); they’re not tricky to fit and I’m on something of a roll with taking other people’s engines apart at the moment. You’ll probably want a new reg/rec, too, and they’re also not very hard to fit.
…assuming there’s nothing crazy about the construction of the ZX12 that’d make it difficult.
The mechanical side of its easy … its the fact that you suddenly realise how close to where mrs Js callipigyan derriere has been perched you somewhat get distracted…
Replace Kawasaki ZX12 Stator Cover Gasket

First – make sure you ALWAYS replace the stator cover gasket. There is a small notch in this gasket that allows oil to flow through to the stator to cool it. If this notch is blocked by old oil & debris the stator will not get cooled and burn up prematurely.
