Laid up!

Since yesterday I’ve had some muscle pain around my right hip. There has been sharp pain in the joint since Sunday, although I’ve had this pain a few times now, but generally it goes away. Anyway, today in work things got worse…a lot worse. The pain was shooting up from my butt cheek to the middle of my back and occasionally it would cause my leg to spasm. Everyone suggested I went home, which I just managed. I’d called Dave before I left work and he caught me up on the A4 just before our road. He had to help me out of the car and once he’d helped me to get sorted, he took me to A&E.

I’m laid up on the sofa with pain killers/anti inflammatories and feeling peeved off. :crying:

I’m hoping I’ll be OK by the weekend…and certainly hoping I’ll be OK by Monday as I’m on a course I’ve been waiting to do for 3 years!

ouch thatll be your syatic nerve getting stuck it can be caused by a rotated pelvis do lots of butt cheek clenchs when it becomes free and dont sit cross legged

you’ve been waiting to do a course for 3 years?? Make sure you take those tablets!

And dont stay totally still, you go stiff x

Sorry to hear that, let’s hope it’s all better soon.

Cheers guys.

Yip 3 yrs Mel…bad timing ain’t it!! :w00t:

Shiver, the doc was leaning more to the idea that its more the muscles. Chances are the nerve is boogered as well though.

Took me 20 mins to get up and go to the toilet myself…but at least I managed it alone! :w00t:

fingers crossed its NOT sciatica and just muscle pain! take it easy and hope your well soon in time for your course on monday! :):slight_smile:

Hope the pills do the trick - GWS

mines still playing up after a month :w00t::w00t:

try some codeine based tablets they help a lot, and dont overdo it…rest is whats needed, Ive got 3 weeks left to get mine sorted before italy trip or Im in trouble

That’s what came straight to my mind when reading your symptoms, hope the tablets sort you out as Sciatica is painful I had it the whole of my last pregnancy and ended up unable to walk. It’s trapped nerves or in my case a big lump squashing them.

Bit harsh on mark aint ya :Whistling::smiley:

A friend of mine on another site has advised me its probably a particular muscle thats torn due to uneven hips. The muscle has then become inflamed and is rubbing on the sciatic nerve. Its quite common apparently and as he said, a sports physiotherapist will probably sort me out in no time. I think I’ll be looking into that idea!

The tablets are helping. Today, although its stiff and still sore I’m able to get about myself…which is a good thing when I need the toilet! Fingers crossed I’ll be OK by Monday for the course.

Oh i hope you feel better soon and that its nothing serious and make sure you eat proper meals when you are on those anti-imfla tablets. Because i’m on those at the moment along with muscle relaxent tablet while i wait for physio. i did the mistake of taking them first thing in the morning without breakfast and boy did i feel sick my stomach felt like it was burning inside and i just threw up stomach acid.

Awww Jools luvvie get yourself to physio (specially a nice young fit one:P) they’ll sort you out in no time:D remember to eat when you take them pills!:w00t: get well soon luvvie:)

Cheers hinny. Knowing my luck the physio person will be a massive, russian, shot putter woman with moustache and hairy arm pits. :stuck_out_tongue:

judgejools44 You got my sympathy. I’ve got a (repeat) similar problem with the ulna nerve in my right arm and it’s bitch.

I just about manage the 7 mile urban commute to work before the right hand stops wanting to twist the throttle. Shaving, and arse wiping, are a pain in the shoulder and most other simple things are a challenge.

How do you rest your right arm when your right handed?

Keep taking the anti inflamatories, but only with food. They are almost as bad for the “digestive transit” as you can get.
