I don`t know if this has been said before but anyway.
Is it illigal not to show your L plate on the front of your bike if you haven`t passed your test?
legaly you must show an L plate on the front and rear of any vehicle before you have passed your test.
I asked as i know someone who swears he doesn`t have to have one on the front of the bike.
he could get pulled any time any where for that, he deffo needs two plates
I wonder who that can be!
Also did you know that it is illegal to ride a bike with L plates if you have a full license?

I wonder if anyone’s ever been done for this. I mean, first thing any normal person would do upon passing is rip up the L-plates.
i was actually going to do this. when i first passed my full license and we only had the scooter, we needed both me and my gf (on a cbt) to be able to ride the scoot.
we had to go thru the hassle of putting/removing the L plates every time i got off/on
The only exemption from this is when you have just passed the test, and you are on your way back to the instructors place of work to drop off the bike.

Same here. I was riding for about 2 weeks like that before buying my own bike. I had no idea that was illegal until just now!
Where I passed there was a huge bin full of torn up L plates. Mine joined them!

I was told it was 3 points for not displaying a plate - and you had to display both front and rear - so you would lose your CBT as a result of not having both plates on show 
It is also an offence to cut the L plates down, a bit like having small number plates, I suppose.
I’ve seen some bikes where almost all of the white bit is cut right back. Looks very silly - if they’re that bothered they should take and pass the test!
My instructor used to ride any of the bikes from the school so used to stick a couple of strips of black tape across the Ls.
+1 to that.Quite a lot of scoots have L-stickers but cut away the white - leaving just a red L - so it just looks like a decal … completely pointless
technically it’s driving otherwise in accordance with your license which would be 3 points and a vehicle seizure notice + costs. unless you want to argue the toss at court in which case you could get 6 points, £1000 fine + costs for your trouble
If you’re really unlucky you might get stuck on for no insurance as well, as if you are otherwise in accordance with your license, as far as your insurance company is concerned, you don’t have a license to drive that vehicle in it’s currrent state.
