knowledgable folks need to read this....

i have that damn 1999 triumph daytona 955i, there is now a rather irritating knocking/rattling coming from the clutch, apparaently tis model has been known for some sort of double spring mechanism going wrong and being responsible for said racket.

what is it being caused by, where can i buy a replacement part, is it an in depth job, will i cry to my mummy when i find out how much this will cost.

massive thanks for the help in the past regarding this heathen of a bike, it will work,…IT WILL FEKKIN WORK…RIGHT, WHERES THE HAMMER.

Sorry I can’t help other than to suggest you put a similar post on the Triumph Torque website - which should produce some ideas - Google turned up this recent thread among many… http://www.triumphtorque.com/messageboard/thread/144531-Engine-rattle.aspx

+1 Triumph Torque or Triumph RAT http://www.triumphrat.net/ are the best places to ask - Rat is better for straiht forward techie questions.

  • had no problems with my Daytonas so can’t help you further…

Ask a trumpet specialist.

are you sure it is the clutch?

a little check to do, run the bike without lights on is rattle knocking there? if so turn lights on has rattle knocking gone or lessened?

may sound silly but try it and if rattle goes i will tell you the answer, lol.

if not then prob is your clutch, lol

The camchain, adjacent to the clutch, is famous for making a hideous racket esp if the adjuster is about to move on a notch.
Could be your clutch springs, does the rattle go when you pull the clutch in?

It’s a Ducati with a Trumpet badge!
