Cant see anyone has already mentioned it here but was wondering if anyone that has a gixer k9 1000 can give any opinion on whether it is standing up to the hype? They look awesome but wanted to see what someone with one says before going any further as for me it is a bucket load of cash. Tight and Scottish, what can i say!
Any feed back greatly appriciated, looked at one and have to say sitting next to the 750, thought ithe thou was a bit bulky and not so stylish lookin on the upper front fairing part only.
And do those hefty looking stock cans sound any good? Know the stock can on the k7 750 sounds sweet. Cheers either way ,
Sorry mate, dont know anyone on the forum that has got one! as to whether it is worth the upgrade, depends what you have now (if it is a CG125, probably!!! )
But try gixerjunkies they might have someone who has taken the splash…
A few guys on gixxer.com have them and love theirs…Say its way better than the K5 apparently.
Best thing for you to do though would be to book a test ride though I’m pretty sure you’ll find it a bit bulky compared to your 750…More so than the K5 1000s anyway.
Went and had a look at the new R1 and K9 last week and they both look bulky around the front fairing. I’m not a fan of the styling. I’ll stick with my 750, although a few extra hp wouldn’t go amiss
Cheers Afro, will go and have a nosey around the gixxer forum aint been there in a while. Yeah thought that too, mind you still got a wp 1100 so guess a quick ride on that before a k9 will decieve me re the bulk. Thought the front was quite bulky too.
hum not tryed the k7 only road the k4 thou witch is a stunt bike but if it goes ill like it no matter wot looks can be changed:) and i dont judge by looks:P i am stuck 2 hooked to the k4 lool althou i am a funny ****** ill rather have the old 7/11 slabby any day…
yeah you see thats the prob, my 1994 wp 1100 is still turning heads, but there is no getting away from the difference in riding that compared to a K7! ****** it is causing problems … eek i feel like such a disloyal tw** to the WP saying that as had it for much much longer and it is still an insane machine!:w00t:
Yes it does, it was first put on the K7 1000’s, now it’s on the K9 in a different position under the clutch lever. The buttons that were the mode buttons on the right hand side now operate the clocks without having to put your hands into the clock area. There’s also a lap timer on them
ewww more buttons to play with for me instead of looking at the up coming corner, sounds like they are a little more complicated than my simple brain would cope with, ts125 time I think, I could manage the controls on that. Sometimes!:hehe:
