Jonathan Palmer Corporate Day

Anyone done one of these?

You mean have we taken VIP at a Brands race event? Or have we hired the circuit for a work bonding type event?

Have you taken part and driven their cars? What is the day like? How much time do you get in the cars, etc

The best day of your life (not on a bike that is) if your getting a chance to go it really is worth it.

I went on a corporate one about a 3 years ago, loads of driving, the instructors push you really hard, no problem with you spinning the cars off the track, huge run off areas.

As Carlsberg would say “probably the best car track day in the world”

??

I agree, if somebody else is paying ! :DWe drove a selection of nroad cars, Elise, Exige, Honda S2000, Audi S3, Vauxhall VX220 and Honda Integra and some Caterham thing, span off several times, the brakes on the Audi caught fire etc, great laugh, instructors almost want you to push it too far. Also drove the Palmer Audi single seater, gives you a feel for cornering on slicks, even cold ones in a single seater, awesome. We seemed to get plenty of time in the cars, was a corporate day, we were consideing buying a piece of software and this was an ‘encouragement’.

Excellent! Now I don’t feel so bad for blowing off my meeting commitments.

We had a charity auction at work for a few places on Friday so I put in a cheeky bid and got one of the places.

How much actual driving did you do, and how much standing around?

I used to go on these regularly when they were at Bruntingthorpe as they became the IT industry’s de-facto standard corporate day out.

They were brilliant then and I hear fantastic things about them now. The instructors teach you much more than you can ever imagine you need to know about driving that is very relevant to your every day punting around in a cage.

Ahem . . . I am glancing at my ‘Overall Winner’ trophy as we speak! :Whistling:

I’m going to try for the spirit cup. Or most improved. ;)

It really is different class, not the usual dont overtake, dont go over 3000rpm, be careful be careful rubbish, its a proper driving day. The instructors are not happy until you are going across the grass backwards at 100mph+

Just wish i could afford to do one again, you will have a great day guaranteed!!

Formula Jaguar
Top Speed: 185 mph
0-60mph: 3.1 secs
60-0mph: 1.6 secs
Engine: 3.0 litre V6
Power: 250-300 bhp
Transmission: 6 speed paddleshift
Cornering G force: 2.3 G

Crikey! 0-60 faster than most bikes, and 60-0 in half that time!

Awesome day out!

I’ve to both Bruntingthorpe in the early days & to Bedford, can’t wait for someone to invite me there again!

im definately in the wrong game…
