JAY - Whats wrong with a GSXR1000 K5?

I know there is 1000 good things, but is there any bad points you can think off, or anything to be wary when buying 2nd hand?

I have flogged my Z1000 Tangomobile and looking at a litre sports, the K5 being one of the favourites.

I will be using it for blasting A roads and trackdays.

Cheers amigo

Coxy

p.s. Don’t tell the Ninja’s

er there all blue and white… and even my nan has one

Nice one Cozy The bad points are:

  • Yamaha owners get very jealous and envious.
  • You might become anti-sociable
  • You might lose your license

But on the plus side, you’ll have the badest bike out there, love riding all over again, and want to go touring, do trackdays, polish your bike and hack off the locals.

Flat your nan has taste mate

the probs are that they have a suzuki badge on them and they appear to be lacking in power…not the fastest bike in the world…come to think of it,they are not even the fastest bike suzuki make…

you’ll automatically become jealous of Fireblade riders that constantly pass you time…and time…and time…and time…and time…and time…again…

It’s not a K6

It’s not a Triumph 675.

It’s way too fast for oldies like me.

Sounds like it was made for me, life’s too short (so am I )

Cheers Jay

Right time to call insurance brokers…

Will let you know how I get on

I’ve only just figured that out. There is so much power that I end up using some valuable concentration just to make sure I don’t highside/spin up/wheelie all the time, instead of just going very fast round corners (which is what I enjoy most). I’m chopping my K5 for a K7 750 (hopefully available in September). See my thread http://londonbikers.com/forums/shwmessage.aspx?ForumID=21&MessageID=93396 .

Too late Coxy, you’ve been spotted!

You may have heard of me through my MCN Ninjas username…Paul_ZX…ring any bells

Can’t believe you’ve chopped in the Z thou after getting it going so well round Donners. Just looking for a touch more ground clearance?

Would have thought that a ZX-10 C was more up your street but having seen Jay’s Gixxer on a few occassions, it is a seriously well sorted machine, if you end up with a bike like that you’d have to be happy (shhh, he does dream about 675’s though).

Wotcha buddy

The man from insurance…he say YES.

Time to go shopping

Just try not to get a blue and white one…

they do them cheap at daytona in ruislip…even come in green with the rare kawasaki badge on…

Seen a nice black and yellow number

If you want the best alround supersportsbike of 05/06 buy a LitreGSXR

If you want the best hyperSports, Buy a KwakZZR14

If you want a tourer by a Beemer12GS/Honda.

We all have diff tastes, lets face it, the Soozi thou wins its category.

Not saying I can ride one, but just reading Every review since 2004 has solidified my opinions

that wasnt the question…

We all know the ZZR14 is the fastest…

Yawn

actually as standard the zx12r is the fastest still as the 14 got a silly restritor on it that wont come off…if you going for speed and scratching then gsxr1000 or gsxr750.pure power then the zx12r…a wild ride then zx10…but the suzi prob the best for the lanes…dont treat it with contempt or it will throw up some surprises…from what i have heard, the thou is the be all of sports bikes …my friend had a crescent rizla and now he has a ltd edition and he loves them and i respect his judgement…

you’ll find that the k6 - 750 (black obviously) with yoshi full system (yes its available) blue-printed/re-mapped and a little tuning will beat the thou in every aspect!!!

Care to demonstrate, Sean?
