OK, my second day in Rio.
Few thoughts:
1)Never ever explore the cities without locals. It makes it sooo much easier ! you don´t waste time for finding the right connections, noone is gonna cheat you with money, they know where to get the cheap prices for anything, not the one for tourists. I´m so grateful to my host!
2)Copacabana is not as nice as on the postcards, Ipamena is my favourite beach in Rio
3)The food is amazing and you can get a 3course meal for £2.50! I´m trying to get the ticket for a footbal game in Maracana, the tickets are for £15
Don´t you think that living in London has a good side as well? - when you go wherever abroad you can´t believe how cheap everything is
I would post some pictures but I´m using a PC with a windows 98 and it doesn´t have Mass Storage Device drivers and I can´t connect my memory card reader. Does anyone know how to fix it?I was trying to install drivers from the internet but it just doesn´t work.Is there any special way to do it in WIn 98?
All the best lot!
I´ll keep you up to date.
Cezar, I think I´m gonna go to Curitiba on the way to Foz do Iguacu.Probably next thursday.Does your brother speak english?
MM, I was waiting for your reply but of course as always haven´t received it:p. You can pick them up anytime if you want, I can arrange it without a problem.
Sounds great Rottie, enjoy yourself, and be safe, I’m sure not everyone is a shining example of a good citizen towards tourists! Can’t wait to see the pictures when you’re back, keep us informed!
PM sent to you right now Rottie! Not sure if his english is good wenought but someone near him will have it! He will sort you out in Curitiba for sure! Do you have a phone there?
Belated best wishes for a safe trip! Hope you’ll have a fabulous time.
Seen the Girl from Ipanema yet?
The Girl From Ipanema
Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto
(Writer(s): Jobim/Gimbel/DeMoraes)
Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah
When she walks, she’s like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gentle
That when she passes, each one she passes goes - ooh
(Ooh) But I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her
Yes I would give my heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at me
Tall, (and) tan, (and) young, (and) lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, I smile - but she doesn’t see (doesn’t see)
(She just doesn’t see, she never sees me,…)
