It's that time of year again.....

Lying in bed last night…3 a.m…sound asleep…then BOOM…the loudest crack of thunder I have EVER heard…it made my entire house shake…the walls…the windows…everything…unbelievable barrage of hail shortly thereafter. I got out of bed to check the radar for tornados in the area…thankfully, there weren’t any warnings so back to bed to listen to my luxury home being POUNDED by golf ball sized chunks of ice dropped from 30,000 feet or so.

Unbelievable…

Are you sure you didn’t hear someone flushing the loo on a Boeing 747 and maybe the ‘fallout’ was frozen piddle?

Just a thought…

A plane load of drunk Irishmen hitting the loo at once couldn’t have produced the quantity of hail that hit our area…it was CRAZY. LOL

We don’t get ones that big over here. The biggest we’ll get is like a size of a tic tac!!

:w00t:

Speak for yourself!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Mere mortals arent the only ones who shake their tic tacs then!

(I watch far too much TV!)

I miss the interesting weather from my time in North Carolina. Dented cars from hailstones, ice storms, hurricane floyd etc

Awful for people killed or injured or property damaged…but still fascinating for a lad originally from Sussex.

I once spent an afternoon cowering in a basement in Northern Illinois - midday, sky went blacker than black, tornado warning siren thingy starting screaming, hid in basement with a 2 & 5 yr old …didn’t realise the second siren thingy was actually the all clear sign - was in the basement for 4hrs!!! Parents came home and thought we were playing hid n seek!
