It's "Officially" Over....

I awoke this morning to a viscious north wind, blowing snow and a forecast for decreasing temperatures all day. I had been holding out hope for ONE more quality week-end to ride but it looks like bike season is now officially over.

I’ll get her winterized and up on the stands when I get home from work tonight.

I’m now officially counting days until Spring.

Join the club mate! Time to get a dirt-bike and revel in the conditions

My neighbor just got an ATV…a Honda shaft drive contraption of some sort…I’m considering getting another ATV myself…but a REAL one…like this.

It would EPIC fun to take to Little Sahara National Park in Winoka, OK…

Now…to talk the wife into it. (She has already expressly forbidden me to have the DR-Z400 Super-Moto that I want so dearly…she says “I’ve SEEN how you ride a dirt bike and you are NOT going to have one on the street!!”)

That quad looks sooo much fun!!

Yeah … just get me a really nice bike & they start gritting the roads. Salt on my new baby? … no way!!

Ahh well … I knew I was gonna buy it during winter … best prices by far!

Might have to re-insure the GPX, so that I can get to the Ace.

I used to race an ATV…a Suzuki QuadRacer 250. 250cc’s of ported, polished and bored up 2 stroke nastiness. Mid range expansion chamber…fatboy silencer…That thing was VISCIOUS. Probably THE most fun I’ve ever had.

I’m told that the new 4 strokes run harder/stronger than the old 2 strokes…Maybe I could talk the Suzuki dealer into a test ride and judge it for myself?

yeah, same here up north ,on the westcoast its’ still okay but if you go into the country its hitting anywhere frm -3 to -10. Oh well, only 4 months to spring. Hey ks, so what exactly are you gonna do to “winterize aka hibernate” your bike…reason i’m asking is you never know, might pick up sum new pointers.

OK OK OK I can’t help it.

It’s VICIOUS.

Gah! Sorry to be picky…

Go for the Quad Gregman… Looks like an enormous amount of fun… Oh, to have open roads and countryside to go mental on, would be a dream right now…

What about if u bought her somethin that she’s always wonted??? And then buy the DR400z!!!

You and Jay are welcome any time…

I’m sure we could scare up a couple more bikes while you were here.

I give the chain a complete lube/cleaning…fill the tank with gas…keep an oiled rag in the exhaust can opening…both wheels up on stands…and a tarp over it all. I fire it up and let it run for a bit every two weeks to keep the battery fresh and fluids in the case “sloshed around.” That’s about it…
