In conjunction with the ISB rounds, the 34th Enkalon Trophy will be up for grabs with the 2009 winner, Scotsman Keith Amor, now a doubtful starter after parting company with the JMF/Millsport Yamaha Team last weekend.
With the opening rounds of the ISB series also doubling up for some valuable practice for some of the countries top road racing teams, this years event, has again drawn the attention of some very high calibre names and Teams.
The Relentless Suzuki duo of New Zealand’s Bruce Anstey and Australian Cameron Donald will line out on the Bishopscourt track with Ballymoney’s Adrian Archibald, Dungannon’s John Burrows, and Ballygowan’s Michael Pearson all entered for the Superbike Races.
With a total prize fund of £22,000 up for grabs, the cream of Irish short circuit racing will be eager to get a good start to their season, plus a share of the attractive prize pot on offer.
Notable entries include, Crumlin’s Stephen Thompson, Newtownard’s rider Kirk Jamison, Portadown’s Marshall Neill, Ballymena’s Denvor Robb, Randlestown’s Gerard Kingham, Coleraines’s James Dickson, Waterford’s Brian McCormick, and last years ISB runner -up, Mark Johnston also from Coleraine.
seeley.jpg2009 ISB Superbike Champion Alastair Seeley will be absent, but it is hoped that Seeley will make an ISB appearance later in the year.
A new addition to this years ISB seres will be the knock out qualifying system for the Superbikes, similar to the method used in World Superbikes. The “Role for Pole” will be backed by Nutt Travel. Walter Bell & Son Oil Fired Heating Services along with Irish Racer Magazine will also be supporting the 2010 Irish Superbike Championships in 2010.
Additional Support for the opening rounds at Bishopscourt will come from Down District Council.
