is the NEC worth waiting for anymore?

when i first got my licence i went there i got loads of stuff which made the trip more than worthwhile. have been a couple of times since and cant remember seeing any particularly great prices

my sidi’s are on their last legs (aka fooked) so wondering if i should wait for NEC or just stump up. the online prices dont seem to be fair off retail for boots like the SMX Plus’s

I’ve never gone to the NEC expecting a bargain, as I know I’d be disappointed. I prefer to buy the things I want rather what happens to be on offer, and where there is a reasonable prospect of finding the vendor again if they don’t work, break or turn out they don’t fit properly.

I do go to the NEC every year. Mainly because I like stumping up and obscene amount of money to get there in diesel (never go by bike), pay lots of dosh to get in (last year I paid twice as I left my ticket in the van) and buy a couple of pints and get no change from a tenner. Oh and the foods awful, and overpriced too. And they don’t seem to have the females enticing you onto stands like they used to…

But I’ll still go - I’m a creature of habit:)

Went along last year, needed a new lid but it wasn’t my main reason for going, got my lid from the helmet city stand for £30 less than there normal price so wasn’t too bad I suppose :slight_smile:

I used to go every year;

1, Because its only about 30min from my dads.

2, The great bargains you get.

3, The live arena

4, The ample amount of gorgeous ladies

I hadnt bee for ages but then i went 2 years ago, you dont get the amazing deals you used to although there is still sometimes a deal to be had. There is nowhere near as many hot chics as there used to be and they charge you for the live arena, im pretty sure they never used to when i went years ago. Oh yeah and im not always at my dads anymore so have alot futher to travel.

Im still going this year though :smiley:

Yeah what he said, especially #4 :wink:

The BMF is the one for all the bargains.

bmf? where…when? lol need a lid jacket and trousers!

ive nether been there b4 i wouldnt mind going looks like i could save alot of money on bike stuff

I usually go to the NEC but not last year as i was too busy but will go this year.
BMF show is OK if it`s dry.

i HAVE NOT BEEN TO THE NEC .have vistited the ally pally b4 and was up the excel show early this year , i went to get a new lid boots and crashbungs.

I bought my arai lid , sidi boots and full r&g bungs for my r1 (i had ) and i saved 260 quid over lagunas price… And paying in cash helped

We also met leon haslam up there. He spent a good 5 mins talking to my son and me and then posed for a photo with my son too nice bloke …

i need some new kit so might pop up the nec and just see if they have want i want at a good price, .

The entrance price should be cheaper really ,but then so should alton towers,legoland,sea world, ect ect nothings cheap these days:angry:

I got £30 off a lid there last year. You can get some bargains, but usually I end up buying **** loads of stuff I don’t need. The ladies all look about 14 and have lots of fake tan and there are no handsome young men with their six packs and pecs out :frowning: ((Although, having said that, there was a gorgeous Aussie bloke demonstrating something or other last year ). However, I have always enjoyed it, just for hanging out, looking at bikes and products and sitting on loads of different bikes:):slight_smile:

Worth a trip anyways:)

I’ll be there :cool::smiley:

I did a quick search on the 'tinterweb and couldnt find anything about this, when is it?

ive been a couple of times when i lived near by , and when i was young enough to get in for a fiver :stuck_out_tongue:
dnt think ill bother this year though

I think you should, its been lacking in fit chics lately

this is the site http://www.motorcycleshow.co.uk/mci2007/index.html

I used to go but having seen the recent court case after last years show, where one of the major stands was charged with selling fake (big name) kit, I will not bother any more. I am sure it was only one stand, but on the basis I do not have enouge knowledge to spot real from good fake, for me it is not worth the effort.

On top of this, I could not find any real bargains like the previous years.
