Is 3 network really that SH*T?

The last few days I have had the DNS continuing to disappear despite remaining connected and having a good signal. It wasn’t a problem I used to have at all!

BTW, one thing I did which made a huge difference was buying a metre long shielded USB lead from Maplin and placing the dongle high up away from electrical devices - I now get much faster speeds when connected.

My step daughter has a contract with 3 and she continues to have slow speeds. On the other hand, I have a PAYG 3 purely for when I am trackside. I have only ever had one problem in the garages at Snetterton, all other times have been great.

I have never forgiven 3 for the irritating popups with which they plagued my screen when they launched their service.

I used to thank my lucky stars that I wasnt locked in 3 contracts - Friends wentr as far as throwing perfectly good phones against walls they got so frustarted…

But now ive got an iPhone… which as a piece of gadgetry is LOVELY… (Bar the poor call quality)

The O2 network & the DATA network in particluar are shockingly bad! Its not unknow to have full signal anjd then watch the bars drop… the internet pages freeze or just refuse to load etc…

I swapped out to a newer simcard recently and have to say that helped, but its still no where near what you’d expect from a contact that included unlimed data usuage :w00t:

reminds me of the first days of ADSL. we used to have to do this tons of times every day when I was on the pipex helldesk

Funny you said that. I just received a letter this morning from 3 and it says they are upgrading their London network and the service maybe affected for a short time, usually no more than 6-8 hours. I have been using the 3 internet about a year now and they are ok, it is not the fastest (Vodafone 7.2mbp) but it is the cheaper and I was told by the end of this year the speed will be up to 4mbp (about 2.8mbp at the moment)

Hm? I thought 3 had no real infrastructure of their own?
