Basically someone had claimed against my step daughters car insurance she totally believes she was not at fault after alot of phone calls to he company they told her to leave it with them they will deal with it, six months down the line the say they found her at fault. The other guy in the accident is obviously where theirs blame theirs a claim merchant hand has nailed her to the wall for a less than 5 mph no damage accident , is their anywhere she can take this to be looked at again ? or is her insurance companies decision the last word she is gutted more about losing the three years no claims bonus .
Had she admitted any liablity at all?because her insurance company is supposed to ask, and obviously it is in their best interest not to pay out so I’m surprised about this…
if they have not paid any money out to anyone then she may get away with what is known as an information only claim, which may bump her up £50 a year but will not lose her no claims. you really only lose them if money is paid out…
I will ask a mate who works for an insurance company for you, but 1st has it all been settled or is it still going through?
I think the question is what did she do??? Did she hit them? Was there damage? I don’t really understand how a 5mph accident could happen…
She hasnt admitted liabity at all this has all be told to her by phone she the say a letter is on its way , she has been to citzens advice now and has got someone dealing with the situation so hopefully it wont all end in tears thanks for your input ![]()
I think you really should understand you dont even have to be doing 1mph to be have a accident ![]()
I’m afraid that the first thing you need to understand is that the Insurance company don’t represent the interests of the policy holder. They represent themselves, so the simple answer is that they can settle without recourse to you!
I’ve been there… basically you’ve been hung out to dry and there’s little you can do about it. You could try the www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk service.
I reckon your spot on their jonny unfortunatly
