Insurance (Again)

£161.21 fully comp on a 2010 600RR. All I can say is it pays to be old. This is the first time the renewal was cheaper than any quote from an online comparison site.

My first year on this bike was over a grand.

nice

Old, and also have the ability to keep it upright?

I’m old, I’m a woman, I live in an “A” rated insurance area, I have 9 years + NCD and my bike’s garaged. So how tf did you get your insurance for nearly £100 less than what I’m paying, ya jammy sod???

Who with Joby??

What you have to remember here is that Joby is a fair weather rider and only requires insurance for between 5000 to 10000 metres a year.

Joby, get married and you will find your premiums go down even more… having said that, your bank balance should also decline in parallel!

That is good.  Mine were £130 for a 955i Sprint RS 5 years ago, but now it is even more and I have not moved and have no bike claims…

I’m with Principal Insurance and the Insurer was Zeneth. I’ve been with them for a few years now and I only do about 4000 miles a year.

Janey I think your bike is newer than mine which could be why your premium is higher. And we all know Honda people are sensible.

“And we all know Honda people are sensible”

Ahem, I’ve seen you on your Honda, remember?

Mines due again next month. £438 looks to be the cheapest fully comp for my 2015 kawi versys 1000. Not really a bad price considering I’ve only been riding 4 years

Also I had a claim on my car when some fecker crashed it while in a car park. That hiked my bike premium up by 75£ including admin fees :-/ that’s on the claims list for like 3 yrs as well :’-(

bookmarked! ;)

Same, just done a quote & comes up £80 year

I paid, last week… £172 third party fire and theft for the whole year with 7 years NCB… My brother as second driver and me insured to ride any bike which helps as my brother as a S1000rr… Really all to do with location, Last year I ended up transferring my place of residents over to my sister as insurance on a 1.6 astra was costing me 2.6k, when I asked for a quote at my sisters place in Hemel Hempstead it magically dropped to 640 fully comp. Transfered license over and phone bill etc bla bla but deffo worth it as I saved about £2500 insuring my R1…

Anyways first post. Howdy everyone

Sigh…550 this year and that is a good 200 less than last year

First post …great
So basically you’ve told insurance you live somewhere else but dont so taking it the bike doesn’t stay at that insured address so technically a voided insurance policy which saves you money how ?

Yeah sorry dude but that’s a really bad mistake to do. They have the right to keep the premium and void your policies. I’d recommend you delete your post and ask TimR to delete his!

I’m a fairly new rider (2 years NCD) but my 2015 S1000R kept in a locked garage in Oxfordshire is £146 fully comp.

Last year in Acton it was £1700 (only for a few months pro rata though as I knew I was moving up here).

Right on… Tim, Without getting into detail as to why I moved my insurance to my second home ( which my sister part occupies ) could it just be that I do actually live between addresses due to work… Why you forum kids so quick to jump the gun and assume everyone’s illegally trying to cheat the system. If it makes you sleep better at night the bikes is kept there over night as I’m only in london now over weekends. As my Samsung records all my conversations I’ve got a recording of this confirmed with the insurance company should there ever be a dispute.

Thats basically how I save money TimR
