And if they can be arsed and get a decent case together the CPS will either throw it out or make an complete bollix of it.
Or even if they do prosecute a Judge will tell them how “brave” they have been.

The police can’t ignore this one. It isn’t a couple of mates with some undefined social background that turns them to crime for beer money that a judge to slap on the wrist later on.
That was an organised force of six and more in the aftersales, in other words organised gang crime. One ready and willing to go above petty crime on the street. It needs as much investigation as terrorists cells, more so, as they are as dedicated to a goal and don’t just talk about it, they will use force.

Bike crime is never going to be seen as important as terrorism. That said, that the guy was waving a hammer at people would I hope, ensure the police treat it more seriously than just an attempted theft.
Not holding my breath though…

seems so unfair , that these low life get away with crime and have no fear of the law , but you can bet if any of us put one wheel into a bus only lane , or wrong turn we can expect the full force of the law via a CCTV enforcement camera .
how long before we are hijacked in a car park etc for any nice bike we may have, we are getting closer to mad max world every day:(
