Great one in brick lane after turning in from Whitechapel gallery end, maybe 200 yds on right hand side, on the corner, great low key place that has been there for years, amazing lamb samosas. Eat in or take away, sorry can’t remember name.

East Dulwich has never been the same since the Denmark Hill Tandoori changed hands a couple of years ago. Karahi chicken, Peshwari nann, etc, best I’ve ever eaten, no point in crying over spilt salty lassi.

Last nice curry I had was a couple of weeks ago on Tooting broadway. I reckon that is the place to explore.

How the hell did you remember that?

I only remembered that we went to Brick Lane but I wouldn’t have a clue which curry house we were in?!?

But Chunks is right the food was good considering it was so cheap, steer clear of the house red mind, vinegar would of had less of an after taste!

I cheated:w00t: I remembered the one next door was The Bengal Bizaar and worked from there;)

Used to be a top veggie indian in Stoud Green, N4. Jal Krishna I think it was called. Fabulous food, cheap as chip(atis)s, bring yer own booze or get some from the offy across the road. Not sure if it’s still there.

Other favourites on a North London tip:
Dipali Palmers Green
Bombay Spice Palmers Green
Mehek Freezywater (delivers!)

If someone else is paying:

I won a voucher to go there at a charity do. I don’t know when you went CvC but I wasn’t impressed at all:crazy:

I’m actually drooling thinking about this now. So many places to try. Must start soon.

I’ve been to a couple of poori type places in Wembley - Chetna’s I think was one. And I know Tooting pretty well. Sree Krishna is great and Rada Krishna closer to the broadway (I think the Rada people used to be the Sree people).

I know it’s not London but I used to do a lot of courses in Small Heath in Brum.

The Balti Houses up there are a real experience. The naan bread is the size of a single duvet…lol:w00t::smiley:

With you there Chunky. Versaswammey (or however its spelt) is one of the oldest curry houses in London down Picadilly way. My Dad used to rave about it all the time (it was kind of like the “15” of its time, not cos the cooks were kids, but it was one of the places to go and eat curry) but when he took me, it was a bit pants really. Maybe he’d just built it up too much, but I wasn’t very impressed.

definitely!!

GO HERE ITS AMAZING FOOD

our favorite if work goes out for a curry evenin’

A downside to stricter immigration controls… maybe the Daily Mail readers AREN’T right after all. I mean what would happen to the traditional English binge drinking session if it couldn’t end with a curry?

Time for action guys, Curry houses need you!

This is turning into a curry house biker review book. The London Bikers guide to Curry…

Thats not such a bad idea. We should have a guide to the best Bacon Buttie in London too;)

Best bacon butty goes to H’s Cafe in Rotherhithe, just on the corner of Albion Street… ;)RR

Tayabs just behind the london hospital. Get there late and you’ll have to cue!!! Also polashi in enfield town( just before the staion). Oh and the punjab in neal st covent garden. My boss has been gong there for 30 years!!!

That’s the one I was talking about - TAYABS. MUST BE TRIED!!! Cheers Peejay!

Ritas in southall. Authentic too. Brick lane caters more for the drunk than in does the foodie. The food at most of them is oil and spicey losing the sutle hints of taste.Mirch marsala is getting a bit hit and miss at the moment. Both the Norwood and aldgate ones.

Lahore is less of the typical curry type place more ethnic spiced meats. There lamb chops are amazing as are the tikka rolls.

Another thumbs up for the Lahore

I’m still impressed I remembered which one it was from my uni days, but the big yellow sign is unforgettable!

Mehek was wicked when I last went  Poor old Hertford Grill :pinch:

OMG! Hertford Grill  I went there on a date once! In my defence I was young, poor and foolish and it wasn’t my idea.
