Got ready for my BikeSafe this morning, was really looking forward to it…
Got to the garage, took the bike out, got dressed, key in the ingnition, turn and click…nothing…

Tried to jump start it…nothing…looked for the jump leads, surprise surprise they’re missing…looked for my optimate, oh what a shock, gone…
Luckily, because I kept the team informed, they’ve re-booked me for the 14th
I think I might stay in for the rest of the day cos I don’t think it seems to be a lucky day so far

bad luck. optimate wont help much by the way for this situ - it takes ages to put a good enough charge into the bike to get it to crank (esp with the test cycle first)
have got one of these - which has had mixed results. started up my gf’s scoot when it had been left standing for ages, but couldn’t see to get my mates car to crank and had to get the jump leads out for that one.

Well…I didn’t think so, apart from flashing a bit fast they seemed ok. The bike certainly started ok yesterday before I put the fairing back on. I wonder if it’s just the sheer amount of times I turned the ignition on to test the protons
mine still flash fast and the bike runs fine. as you said it was probably all the test cycles. you might want to fit the relay before you do bikesafe though cause it would fail mot as it is. not sure if they’d care though. Also i’m free tonight so if you’re in the london area you can borrow my optimate.
I live in Walton-On-Thames so just outside London.
I have an Optimate somewhere but having recently moved and because I have no power in the garage I think I might have put it away somewhere.
I think a relay is a definite as soon possible
