Went to the nerve specialist in London today… he thinks he might be able to get some feeling back in my shoulder, but he needs to operate asap. It’s about a 50% chance of success, but worse case scenario is nothing will change… apart from another scar in my ever growing collection… He’s trying to get me in for the op within the next 3 weeks, and hopefully I’ll be out the day after the op. I wasn’t entirely sure about his diagnostic skills…his assessment seemed to consist of trying to inflict pain by hitting and pinching me, and writing down where I could feel it…

When I suggested get a big scooter adapted to get me to work, she said I could get a bike, but I’d have to find somewhere else to live, and someone else to help me do stuff first:(

At uni, I used to do a bit on brain disorders and movement problems, which overlapped with this area - some interesting progression made at places like the University of Reading: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/uk/2000/newsmakers/1069029.stm and the University of Manchester: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/11/061115093227.htmMaybe you could contact these universities and ask if they need help in any research projects? It would be a way of making it a positive thing for you (I know youre already doing very well in this regard). Reading, I think, is particularly renowned for this kind of work and you never know, you might be at the forefront of some interesting progressions?
