I Rode An IL4...And I Liked It!!

its true!:w00t:

i had a lil play on a mates 08 R1 the other day, felt loverly and smooth, but pulled away betetr than a 600…hmm twas nice! bit odd still tho, power wise, totally difrent power delivery tooo my Vee, nothing… nothing…bang!!.. lets go!!;)

had a play on Marly’s K7 Gixxa6 today, felt really nice, better than other gixxa’s i have rode, picked up well, sounded nice with an akro pipe and no cat! was impressed at how dinky it felt, very lieght and so easy to turn, KD felt very very easy:) ta for that marly, now you know exactly what she sounds like passing by;)

i have rode a few IL4’s now, didnt really get on with them, bar the 05 R6, to be honest…i didnt wanna get off the gixxa!:D:w00t: felt liek it was on rails!

i think ratty’s getting a taste for sports IL4’s!:w00t::w00t:

ooooh need job really badly now!!

Finally he gets it

Actually, I’m going the V way myself…Shame it can only be a Ducati 1198 or an Aprilia RSV4 (which is cheating).

its the focused nature of them, built for lean angles! makes teh SV feel liek a bus:w00t:…still i keep up:D

i do love V’s, they dont feel fluffy!! the 1198 or 1098 would do me, teh V4 is cheating but defo still awesome, liek teh new R1, shame about the headlights:w00t::hehe:

a ride on a more Focused V is in order i think…PJ!..

Aprilia RSV 1000s are decent priced now…I like the 04 onwards models…Very sexy and great to ride…Tested one a few years back…Very nice.

hehe dude, as if the difference you were feeling was down to the engine! most of it was down to the suspension and chassis, as afro said, if you were to ride sommit like the RSVR then that would also be of interest I am sure

I went the other way. last road bike was a K7 750 Gixer (after a long line of IL4’s - almost all zooks)

Took me a little bit to get used to the s/duke twin experience. Was always too high up the revs to begin with rather than using the diesel cage technique and getting the shove from the low end twin pulses.

Get the KTM (once you have the job - good luck) - all other bikes are for woofta’s :stuck_out_tongue:

Millies are a thought…i do love the superdukes!

awesome looking, go liek stink! and handle well, be liek my SV…but better!!

I can vouch for the RSV, too. Tried one recently, and the cornering speed/lean is amazingly easy. Taz are doing some really good deals on them at the moment.

The way you ride Ratty - you wanna get a focused IL4 sports bike - an R6 or summink.

I bought the SV becuase I’d never had a v-twin before - and they are good - but IL4 is the way to go.

The pull of the IL4 is strong in this one

i need a ride on a focused Vee as well…

its gettign really strange now, smiled even offered me a go on his Gixxa7fiddy!!:w00t::w00t::cool:

obvioulsy i have offered him the chance to sample a Vee.

i love the grunt of a v-twin…My SV is great on the road, with few simple mods it would be better, ohlins rear shock and upgraded font for internals, if poss some lighter wheels, she would be a weapon!

BUT i am leaning towards a track bike aswell once im have work again! track biek will be an IL4 sportsbike of some sort, i rekon i can push ahrder on one ound a track, my SV was not built for track…unlike teh 650 wich shines on smaller twisty tracks!

you know… after seeing yours in the fast group i’m leaning that way…and dutch’s one…Beautifull bike:D

But do you really want a bike that wear a bikini for fairings?

Ratty wanna buy my bike???

when i have a job…YEEEES!:D:D

LOL…let me know man! I do love my bike though…I still aint picked it up this weekend! arrrrghhhh

The first mod I would do on an SV would be the brakes…IMO they really are quite weak and was the one negative thing that stood out when I rode with my mate back to back on my R6 and then on his SV 650.

His was a first generation 99 plate so I don’t know if Suzuki improved things in that area since.

Engine did feel nice.

I reckon you should test an RSV 1000 (newer gen Mille) or maybe a Duc 999…They’ve come down in price now too since the 1098.
