Be aware

Last Sunday evening around 9pm, my Grandson (not Luke) was riding his two week old scooter home along an unlit lane in North Romford. He became aware of a cars headlights approching from behind, the next thing he remembers is waking in the back of an ambulance.
His scooter was struck from behind by the following vehicle and he was thrown off and left unconscious in the road. The driver of the next vehicle along managed to make out what she thought was a bundle or sack laying on the road, she stopped and when she realised it was a person, called the emergency services. It was due to the fact that no vehicle was coming in the other direction that she was able to take avoiding action and steer around my Grandson, had she not been able to she said she would have ruin over him. When my Son arrived at the scene a police officer said to him " have you noticed that there is no motorbike" my Son enquired as to it’s whereabouts and the officer explained that the purpose of knocking my grandson from his bike was to enable those responsible to steal it which in fact they had done. Thank God, my Grandson suffered only minor grazes and shock.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for a young man also from the Romford area who suffered a similar occurrence four days previously. That young man died from his injuries apparently.

That is bad news. New tactics by the scum, they are taking to murdering people for their bikes now, which is totally not on. The law needs to be beefed up on dangerous driving and a mandatory murder sentence for those who kill people due to dangerous driving. Simply not on. Be careful out there people, there are some seriously evil people around.

True, but as I said, I not sure of the validity of this? I cant see how obtaining a scooter like this can ensure that the scooter is gonna be salvageable?

Said it before on another post like this, but similar happened to me on chadwell heath high road, afternoon in broad daylight…2 guys, came at me while i sat in traffic near the Eva Hart pub…one at front one at back and they rocked me and the bike trying to get me to get off it !! If 2 bikers hadnt came along filtering up to me, and them…i wouldnt have my blade now!

So it dont surprise me they did this for a bike…ive often been out and about and seen the way people turn and follow you on your bike, while on a mobile or something and i always think “****, im glad im moving cos i dont want to be around this area for long”…even if they are not, they look like they are gonna, try and take the bike!

After the stunt those little tossers tried on me nothing surprises me nowadays…people think they can take what isnt theirs to take and get away with it and see no wrong in it:angry:
