How to Remove the Battery From a Acumen Cat 1 Remote?

Ok this is, I know, a really stupid question and I am no doubt missing a very simple solution but yesterday I spent about an hour fiddling around on this using a screw driver and searching the net trying to find the solution, but I just couldn’t figure out how to remove the retaining metal clip thingy holding the battery in place so I could get the battery out, as shown in the picture (it’s that thing with the “E” shape cut into it - you can see the battery just beneath it):If anyone is able to advise on how to get it out without breaking it or the housing, I would be truly grateful. No amount of trying to lever it up, pressing into the three tabs at the sides, etc, etc, would get it loose :crazy:Thanks in advance.

is it a matter of taking the whole thing out… the green bit altogether? :ermm:

Does the whole circular bit rotate in an anticlockwise direction to release itself and the battery?

Thanks for your suggestions. I did try both on Saturday but I was distracted a bit as I was also watching “Cromwell” on TV, so will try again tonight but will concentrate on the task at hand…

Ok I finally cracked it. The transparent plastic ring surrounding the batteries, which I had assumed to be attached to the circuit board, isn’t attached to it at all! You simply slide the ring up from the batteries, which remain in place, held down by the metal spring which is soldered to the board. To remove the batteries you slide them sideways from under the spring/metal retainer thingy.Job’s a good’un  My neighbours will be relieved as most mornings the bike would tell me the batteries were low by sounding the alarm (rapid beeps) - not a very good thing to happen at 6.45am :w00t:

result!
